@alexphan18 Sometimes it helps to delete the child and just re-enter the child in My Info and go through the screens again. Try that and then check line 28 on your tax form.
If the system is saying you cannot claim the credit, it is likely because:
To fix this, you can go back through and verify that all information is correct. If someone else can claim you or your child for 2021, then you would not be eligible to get the remainder of the credit.
Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. If your child was born in 2021make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
All of my information is correct. I've already had a turbotax representative double check over it with me. Nothing I answered is incorrect and none of the information I entered is incorrect. Everything is entered right and I even filled out a form for the child tax credit and it said I get it but I'm not seeing it on my refund.
Look on line 28 of your Form 1040 for the CTC.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
The most common reason is because you did not indicate the child lived with you "the whole year". Read the small print on the screen that asks how long the child lived with you. Then select the child lived with you "the whole year".
I already did that. All my information is correct. It's still not showing I get it.

Oh----and make sure you did not say in My Info that YOU can be claimed as someone else's dependent. If you say that you can be claimed as someone else's dependent then you cannot get the child tax credit.
Thank you! I'll just start over then honestly!
