No you can not pay a tax due from the other refund. Federal and state are completely separate. Or do you mean the Turbo Tax fees? No. You can only deduct the fees from a federal refund, not state. Sorry
So y state have not come yet it been 4 months
Did you efile? Was your state return Accepted? Or did you print and mail it? Double check your efile status here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS or State Accepted or Rejected your efile.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?
Check for a state refund https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/refund-status/help/how-do-i-track-my-state-refund/00/25571
I did not understand this answer ... so if I received my state does that mean my federal was accepted as well? yes I efiled both state & federal
In order for your state to be accepted your federal return must usually be accepted first. This isn't true in California. But it is most everywhere else.
If you aren't sure if your return was accepted then you should log in to your TurboTax account and check the status on your return.
Yeh both federal and state are accepted just not approved.. but I did recieve my state back yesterday. But I just wanted to know if that means the irs can still hold my federal right ?
Yes, the IRS can still hold your federal refund. The IRS just has to accept your federal return, not process it, in order for the state to accept and process your return.
My state refund was approved on March 4th 2022,but my federal return saying I entered the wrong information, anyone knows what that means?
No, it does not have to be approved, it just must be accepted. It sounds like they are going to change your refund amount. This is happening a lot this year. If you look at line 30 of your return and it shows $1,400 or multiples of that depending on the number of people in your family or line 28 and it shows a full Child Tax Credit, this is likely what they are saying was entered wrong.
Many people received the $1,400 stimulus payment in 2021 and/or the Advanced Child Tax Credit payments, but then on their return, they enter that they did not receive anything. The IRS records show they did receive it, so the IRS is changing your refund amount by deducting the amount that they show you already received.
Hi, my line 30 is blank.
Then, they are looking at something else on your return. It could be an incorrect entry for your W2 or a number of things. You will be getting a letter telling you what they found that they do not agree with. If you do not agree with them, they will give you instructions on how to dispute the changes they made.
Oohh ok, thank you for your help.
Did u get ur refund yet
