Hi, this is the first year in filing when my 16 years old daughter get a 1099-MISC for $800 in the Nonemployee compensation box. Turbo Tax does not give an option to add this form for my daughter. Can this amount be added as extra income in 1040? Does my dependent daughter has to pay tax on this amount?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Your daughter will have to file it on her own return. Because it is nonemployee compensation, she would have to file to pay self-employment tax if the net income is more than $400.
Yes she has to file her own return.
You don't include their income on your return. It would only go on their return if they are required to file one. To file a separate return for your dependent you need to set up a new account. Online is only good for one return per account. You can use the same email address for 5 accounts. They can probably use the Free Edition. How to start a new online return

Be sure on their return they check the box that says they can be claimed on someone else’s return. If their only income is W2 and under 12,200 they do not have to file a return except to get back any withholding taken out. You have to file for a 1099Misc for any amount.

Is there another form that I have to include while filing my tax return for her 1099-Misc income or just only claim her as a dependent?
Just claim her as a dependent. She has to file her own return for her income. Be sure on the dependent return you check the box that says you can be claimed on someone else’s return.

Just tp clarify, If I made 60 dollars in a 1099 form, I do not have to file correct. I want to give the information necessary only. Thank you nd have a great day.
If you are required to file a tax return, then you must include all of your income, including the $60 on Form 1099-Misc. If you are unsure whether or not you need to file a return, see this link. If you are not required to file a return, you can skip filing a return and keep the form with your tax records. But if you choose to file a return anyway, include the $60 as well. If you file a return and do not include the income, you will likely receive an IRS notice (the IRS gets a copy) and possibly a demand to amend.
If that $60 was your only income in 2021 - you aren't required to file a return. But if you worked and you are filing a W-2 to get a refund, then include the $60 of income on that tax return.
