To enter your contract labor costs:

  • Go to Federal > Income & Expenses
  • Under Your income and expenses, click Edit next to Self-employment income and expenses
    work
  • On the next screen, click Edit next to your Line of work
  • Scroll down to the Expenses section and click Add expenses for work
  • On the Tell us about any expenses for work page, scroll down to Less Common Expenses and select Contract Labor
  • Click Continue and then you can enter your contract labor expenses on the next screen.

I am using TTax premier, where I can find the "Income & expenses" ???

Are you using the Online Premier version OR the Desktop installed Premier program? Income is under Federal on left or at the top.  

In you are in the Online version and asking about self employment business,  You can enter 1099NEC or cash Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version.

Where do i put money paid to subcontractors of less than 50000

In TurboTax Premier, to enter your business income and expenses (Schedule C), select Business Income and Expenses under the heading Business Items. However, as noted in these posts, if you have business income and business expenses to report, TurboTax will prompt you to upgrade to TurboTax Self- Employed (which now may be called TurboTax Premium).  

 

In TurboTax Self-Employed (or TurboTax Premium) follow these steps to enter your business income and business expenses: under Federal (left margin), select Wages & Income.  Scroll down the screen to Self-Employment and click Start.  Enter your information.

Premium is another kind of service you can add on,not a version.  It is still Self Employed version
