I have completed my 2019 tax returns using "Deluxe".
I want to e-File as I have done for years. I got to the transmit and thought I'd soon be done, but I got a panel that's titled "Your Transmission Didn't Go Through."
It further informed me: "Turbo Tax was unable to send your return to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center, for the following reason:
Validation failed. There is an update available for your program. Before you can e-file, you'll need to get this update. To do this, go to the TurboTax menu and select Check for Updates."
It goes on, but the essence of my problem is that I've been unable tolocate the Turbo Tax menu so I haven't been able to select "Check for Updates" and update my program.
Please help me through this maize.

The menu referred to is the standard Windows Menu that all Windows programs have.
Are you using the Online web version you log into or the Desktop program installed on your computer? Windows or Mac?
For the Windows Desktop program you have a blue bar across the top. Go up to the very top line in black. It should say....
File, Edit, View, Tools, Online, Help
Click on Online then Check for Updates.
If your program says it's up to date or you can't update it then do the Manual Update. This has also fixed the State forms not available problem for some users.
I have the same problem, but not sure it's State or Fed because I submit both for e-file transmission. I use a Download version purchase via Amazon in Dec 2021. The transcript is:
"Your Transmission Didn't Go through
Turbo Tax was unable to send your return to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center, for the following Reason:
Validation Failed: The Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty recognizing the data in the return you are sending. Make sure your TurboTax program is up-to-date. ... ... Tax Year 2021 transmission are not available. - TurboTax is not ready to process Tax year 2021 for this return.
Looks like we've had a technical hiccup.
Try e-filing again. If ..... does not work, .....file by mail."
I tried doing all the other recommendation from checking web connection, to cookies, to popup switches ... Nothing seem to work. I have used TurboTax for years and e-filed, never had I encounter such issue.
They don't seem to having problem collecting the fee for my state e-file. I receive confirmation my card had been charged.
Need Help to untangle "Validation Failure ..." Thanks in advance ...
I apologize for not mentioning that I use MAC OS Monterey, and Safari. All system is latest. My TurboTax program is up today. My web connection is hard wire. Hope this make sense of the problem.

Thanks for the recommendation on calling support. I did just that, and after an hour, my support tech Carlos D. found the problem. I tried to e-file both Fed and State returns at the same time as in the past. It turn out that my State had not release all their forms as needed. I filed my Fed return on its own with no problem. I will find out if the problem continues when the State releases all the necessary form and try again. Other States might have the same problem.
