Box 14 of your 1099-R will have the state distribution amount.

What should I enter if there isn't a Box 14 on my 1099-R?

@dgs7    Box 14 is empty on many 1099-R forms

.....but, in the end, the state distribution amount is the same as box 2a,....(or it's the Federally taxable amount of box 1 if box 2a is empty or checked as undetermined ).

FYI - Box 14 on the 2024 tax return I'm doing is labeled "State Tax Withheld."    This is not a Michigan Distribution amount.

If there is an amount in box 14 for state taxes withheld and if box 16 on your 1099-R has no amount entered then use the amount in box 1 of the 1099-R for entry of box 16 on the TurboTax 1099-R.
