is it available yet for 2024?
I'm still getting error " you cant file just yet. This may mean a better tax outcome for taxpayers like you who have 2024 qualified disaster Distributions. We can keep working on your tax return and we'll let you know when we can help you finish up your taxes."
Hello,
I tried your solution but wondered how you corrected the year under the 8915-F forms which shows claimed in 2024 for disaster in 2023?
I assume that you tried the workaround where someone said to select the checkbox for 2023 disaster instead of 2024 disaster. I attempted this workaround and the only issue I see is that you won't be able to spread the taxes across 3 years which is something you can do when filing your taxes. Even though there is a workaround, I am waiting until the fix is available. This happened last year and was not able to file until late March.
This is scheduled to be resolved by the end of this week.
We all know what CatinaT1 wrote was not accurate anymore. Hopefully, end of March then. Thx
Mine worked! Filed around 2 weeks ago
No, you don't have 2021 distribution that you return in 2024. Lucky you
This is still not fixed and we are down to the wire. Please rescue us. Thanks
Hello sir, any update? Hope you would have a good weekend. My friend's package simply lacks Form 8915-F whatsoever. Thanks
Are you using TurboTax Desktop? If yes, it sounds like you need to update your software. Here is information on how to manually update your software.
Hiii, the desktop version has been updated to the latest, but nothing has happened. No Form 8915-F whatsoever, despite https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product... says it's ready.

Click on Forms
In Forms mode click Open Form at the top left of the screen
Type in 8915. You should get a result. Click on one of the forms to open
The "Forms" view would say the Form 8915-F (Not Done) exists, but then the step-by-step approach would say, "unfortunately, we do not support qualified disaster distributions taken in 2021. Please see Form 8915-F at irs.gov." So maybe there is a miscommunication within the software? Please have it fixed. TY24 Form 8915-F can certainly handle 2021 disasters distributions. Thanks.
To be more specific, Per TY24 Form 8915-F form instructions,
What Is a Qualified Disaster Distribution?
The distributions that are qualified disaster distributions for tax years 2021 or later follow.
For 2021, qualified disaster distributions are:
• The qualified 2019 disaster distributions for the Puerto Rico Earthquakes (DR-4473-PR) reported on 2021 Form 8915-D,
• The qualified 2020 disaster distributions for qualified 2020 disasters reported on 2021 Form 8915-F (2020 disasters), and
• The qualified 2021 disaster distributions for qualified 2021 disasters reported on 2021 Form 8915-F (2021 disasters).
Right now, it seems it can't handle the last two bullet points. This is not to mention it won't print or become part of the pdf. Thanks,
