How do I get my 6-digit IP PIN?
Sorry, just getting back. Have attempted to coordinate with SSA & IRS to no avail. My 2020 taxes rejected as no.EIN on 1099. No W-2 involved. Help!
Getting back from your May 2021 post a year ago? As we have been saying there is no EIN on a SSA-1099 form. Turbo Tax doesn't ask for it. You must have entered it in the wrong place. Are you using the Desktop program? You need to use the Desktop program to fix it. Then you have to print and mail it.
So since 2020 rejected then enter 0 for the AGI to efile this year 2021 return.
How to finish a return you started online
Here is the Desktop program for 2020. There is no spot for a EIN on a SSA-1099. Or are you saying you entered it in the SS section but your return is rejecting for EIN? Maybe it's for another 1099.
I am unable to find the EIN or Federal ID for the Social Security Administation on Form SSA 1099

Did you look at the screenshot directly above your post that shows where you enter the SSA-1099?
You are in the wrong section of the program. A SSA-1099 does not have an EIN or Federal ID. Please delete the form you started and enter the SSA-1099 in the correct section of the program.
where do I go to follow these directions. Click on federal taxes where?
@ernieheard Are you using the Online version or the Desktop installed program?
Try going to the search box and type in SSA-1099 or Social Security Benefits. That will give you a Jump To link to take you directly to it.
OR
Enter a SSA-1099, SSA-1099-SM or RRB-1099 under
Federal Taxes on the left side or top
Wages and Income
Then scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
Then the second line - Social Security (SSA-1099. RRB-1099) - click the Start or Revisit button
SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION - Payer's TIN: XX-XXXXXXX.
SSA furnishes its EIN on Form 1099-NEC with respect to social security disability attorney fees paid to attorneys that represent claimants.
It's not on Form SSA-1099. Unaware of any reason why a recipient of social security benefits reported on Form SSA-1099 would need the SSA's TIN, which is an Employer Identification Number (EIN), for preparation of the recipient's individual income tax return.
Can’t complete my taxes as it keeps asking for complete address and win number for Social security. Had this problem last year with Tax act and turned to Turbo tax only to encounter the same issue. Frustrated!!!
If it's asking for an EIN number you are entering it in the wrong place. There is no EIN on social security SSA-1099. So delete it and enter it in the right place.
If you only get ssi or SS or SSDI it is not taxable and you do not have to file a return.
Did that and that’s where it’s still asking for address and win number!
I have had the same problem. Last year Tax act had the problem do I changed to turbo tax and it was good. Not this year, same problem. Comes up Social Security and then it asks for the address and win number! Frustrated!

You are trying to enter the SSA-1099 you received either in the section for a W-2 or for a Form 1099-R. Back out of whichever section you are using and delete the form.
To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button
Or enter ssa-1099 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ssa-1099
