Unable to enter info on ssa 1099
I am in the right spot, under social security ssa 1099
It is working fine for me. To resolve your issue:
I am trying to enter SSA information in my desktop version of TurboTax Home and Business and, just as the person describes in this chat, TurboTax will not accept any input on this form. I am not using TurboTax Online or TurboTax on my phone. I am using my full-functioning computer and standalone Turbo Tax for Home and Business 2021 with the latest updates installed.
This suggestion has worked for others. Please try the steps below.
See if this will help - Save your tax return. Close the TurboTax program.
I can type numbers and letters into other fields but when I try to enter on the social security pages it just won't. I've tried this on 2 separate income filings. I tried the compatibility tab and entered run this program as an administrator. Just don't understand. This is my first time to use the website download version of Turbotax after using the CD version for many many years. My new windows based PC doesn't have a CD drive.
Not very happy right now. can't finish my taxes.

it does not. As I mentioned in my question I had already done that. I used a different broswer and that didn't work. I was able to go to the form and input it but I really do not want to have to do it that way.
It sounds like you have been proactive in trying different things. Let me ask, you are using the CD/download product, right ("I was able to go to the form ")? Then changing the browser won't make any difference - that is a suggestion only for Online users (since the majority of Turbotax customers use Online, answers tend to be skewed that way).
Can you give us a screenshot of the input screen that is giving you this trouble? Of course, please redact any personally identifiable information. Thanks.

Are you using the Desktop program? Some people are having trouble entering into box 5. See if this helps.
Are you running the TurboTax application as an Administrator? If not -
Save the tax return.
Close the TurboTax program
Right click on the TurboTax icon on your computer screen
Click on Run as Administrator
Start the TurboTax program and see if the problem persists
One person said......
Did that. Same thing happened. But then... I accidentally double-clicked the box. And it opened up a small windows that let me fix it. Then the same thing happened with the Part B premium box. Double-clicking fixed that.
Try hitting the tab key to move the focus to the next field. Type in a number. Then shift-Tab back to the problem field and you should be able to enter a number
None on these suggestions are relevant - no form for entering the data comes up when the update button is pushed for social security - I think you have a software glitch. Someone should be working on fixing this.

Which TurboTax product for tax year 2022 are you using? The TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions installed on your personal computer or the TurboTax online web-based editions where you have to sign onto the online account with a User ID and Password?
Enter the information from the SSA-1099 is fairly straightforward since you only need to enter the amount from box 5 of the SSA-1099.
What happens when you use this procedure?
To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099
Or enter ssa-1099 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ssa-1099
