The code in box 7 of the Form 1099-R (not your date of birth), indicates to TurboTax that you have an early distribution. Either code 1 or code J indicates an early distribution.
There is no such button. The software will use the date of birth you entered in My Info and will calculate the early withdrawal 10% penalty for you. Just enter your 1099R and be careful to enter the codes that are on the document.

Turbo Tax will automatically calculate the 10% Early Withdraw Penalty if you are under 59 1/2. It goes by your date of birth under My Info. It is shown separately on your return (schedule 2 line 6 which goes to 1040 line 23). Then you get credit for all the withholding taken out on 1040 line 25b. If you are married be sure to enter the 1099R under the right person.
Where are you seeing a field called Extra Tax on Early Retirement Withdrawal?
