Hello,
I am reporting a consistent "Error 1101" blank screen glitch in TurboTax Online. The error occurs after inputting W-2 information when trying to proceed to the next section of wages or other income.
The glitch triggers specifically if Box 12 (401k contributions) is set to any amount above $23,000 (e.g., $23,500). The data entry itself works, but the moment I click "Continue" to move to a different income section, the screen goes blank.
I have attempted the following troubleshooting steps with no success:
Clearing browser cache and cookies.
Attempting the entry on multiple different web browsers.
Currently, the only way to proceed to the next section of the return is to manually lower the contribution to $23,000, which is an inaccurate entry. It appears the system is failing to recognize the 2025 contribution limits.
This issue has also been reported by other users here on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/TurboTax/comments/1q9a95y/turbotax_crashes_when_i_try_to_complete_income/
Could the technical team please look into a fix for this navigation block?
Thanks!

Using the TurboTax Free online editions as a test bed, entered information for a W-2 to include using box 12 with a code of D for 401(k) Deferrals and a deferral amount of $23,500. Clicked on Continue at the bottom of the page without any errors being presented.
I am using Google Chrome Version 143.0.7499.193 with no issues with the TurboTax online editions.
If you cannot resolve this problem by changing browser, you will need to contact TurboTax support for assistance.

For 2025, the maximum 401(k) deferral for most employees is $23,500, with an additional $7,500 catch-up contribution for those aged 50 and over (totaling $31,000)
For 2026, the IRS has not finalized all forms and instructions yet to reflect the new tax laws. Because of this, TurboTax cannot finalize the software.
Software updates will be done on a rolling basis. If you start preparing your return now, be aware that the calculations made by the software may not be accurate and might change.
You can use this link to reference when specific tax forms will be available. You can search by TurboTax Product and for IRS and state-specific forms.
Having exactly the same issue but I haven't even tried changing the number to just $23,000. I would assume is that problem and hopefully TT will fix it up in an upcoming release. Either way, I have to wait since I don't get most of my 1099-B forms until the middle of March. It's really awful that it just crashes like that with a blank page though.
It is a problem in the desktop software too. It looks as though the max contribution amount has not been updated to the 2025 number. So this is not an issue of whether or not the IRS has not finalized a form.
It is showing up for me on the SEP/Keogh/401k worksheet, Individual 401(k), line 6a. It marks a contribution of $23,500 as red (i.e. wrong) but will allow a contribution of $23,000.
Thank you for letting us know about this issue. This has issue has been resolved in TurboTax and the software has the correct limit of $23,500 for 2025 applied for 401(k) deferrals through a workplace or for an individual (Solo) 401(k) plan.
