You should try to get a copy of the 1099-B. However, it is not required to enter the stock sale and associated capital gains. Use the instructions in the link below and when asked if you received a 1099-B, answer NO.

box category C or F on Form 8949 is for stock transactions for which you don't have a 1099-B.
This is not common. Losing your copy doesn't count as no 1099-B since they are also supplied to the IRS.
why no 1099-B? did you sell to a related party at a loss? in such a case the loss wouldn't be allowed.
Trying to report a private sale of stock, but there doesn't seem to be a way to get past screen which requires a name for the "Form 1099". Older--2019 posts--seem to point to a way around that input by answering "No" to whether you received a Form 1099,

I'm trying to avoid "starting over" since a lot of data has been input and imported.
I found the path:
Search for Investment Sales
Jump to the link: "jump to investment sales"
From there, you can enter "Investment Sales" and add as many non-Form 1099 sales as appropriate.
