I'm trying to enter my Social Security income but I keep getting a blank screen. I even uninstalled & reinstalled the program but it's still coming up blank. I've tried everything I can think of but I'm stuck. I have to enter that income. Any suggestions, please???

Are you using online software or desktop? Windows or Mac?
You might be trying to enter it in the wrong place.
In TurboTax (TT), enter social security income at:
- Federal Taxes tab (Personal in Home & Business)
- Wages & Income
Scroll down to:
-Retirement Plans & Social Security
-Social Security (SSA-1099…..
I'm using the CD version on my Windows 8 laptop. The Social Security entry page isn't the only page coming up blank. It happened with several others, always the same pages every time. BUT, I got around it by going to the Forms version & entering the amounts there. And they did transfer to the navigation page (where it shows your entries side by side-by-side with the previous year's entries). Too many glitches, makes the whole process more of a pain than it should be.
Are you sure you have Windows 8? You can't install Turbo Tax on Windows 8. You couldn't even install 2021 on Windows 8 either (you needed 8.1). I had to get a new laptop. You must have upgraded your computer system.

Try this procedure to see if it solves the blank screen problem -
Save your tax return and close the TurboTax program
Right click on the TurboTax icon
Click on Properties
Click on the Compatibility tab
Check the box Run this program as an administrator
Click on Apply and then on OK
Start the TurboTax program and see if the problem persists.
No, I was trying to enter it in the right place. The right place just wasn't there. This was not the only page that came up blank. It happened with several other pages. I got around it by switching to the Forms view & entering the amounts there. But thanks for responding.
To be honest, these days I'm not sure which Windows version is on my laptop because I've been doing just about everything on my phone. I'll have to look it up to be sure. But I don't remember having this kind of problem with the 2021 TurboTax software used on the same laptop. Thanks for responding.
I wish I knew the solution.....I am on a Mac and am having a similar issue with my Premier desktop---some screens are just blank when you click them. A handful of users have posted about this. I think it may be something that happened after a recent "update" to the software; I have posted to the moderators to see what is going on. Will try to circle back if I find an answer. Very frustrating....
Make sure the OS is up to date ... run an WIN update at least twice and reboot the computer as well to get all updates installed ... see if that helps.
@Critter-3 None of those have helped me.. Tried 'em all. I really think they messed something up with an update recently. I am, of course, finished with preparing tax returns. I just wanted to open up my software to look at certain areas as I replied to questions in the forum, and I get these blank screens. Still waiting for some word from the moderators....
