Yes, you are entitled to deduct either actual expense plus depreciation, or mileage. Depreciation appears on Form 4562. TurboTax will have worksheets that accompany it. Detailed calculation information in TurboTax Online can be found by navigating to Tax Tools > Tools > View Tax Summary > Preview My 1040 to access the Form 1040 Worksheet. This worksheet, specifically the Tax Smart Worksheet located between lines 15 and 16, provides the in-depth, step-by-step calculations for your tax liability. If you haven't already, use the steps provided by @DianeW777 to access and print last year's return. It appears that you are using TurboTax Online. Could you have used a different account this year than you used for 2024 and this is why you aren't seeing last year's depreciation? Review the questionnaire for Business Vehicle Expense to confirm whether you entered information for a vehicle. @iffw2012

@DaveF1006 @RobertB4444 @NaySao My W2 does include WA PFML as my employer adminstraor all these leave through 3rd party and so i received completely separate W2 with box 13 saying sick leave. My question is how i apply this as negative adjustment to my gross income while filing for taxes ? Shall i use other income section and use miscellaneous and add as negative adjustment based on what's attributed to employee contribution for WA PFML benefits or shall i adjust "Main income section" where i input my W2 box 1 numbers ?

You seem to be working in Forms mode instead of going through the interview, which does guide you. Switch over to step by step to get these entries correct.
1. NY W2
In the New York state interview, look for a screen titled "New York Income Allocation."
It will ask, "Were all of your wages and/or self-employment income earned in New York State?" You must select No.
See a list of your W-2s. Click Edit next to your NJ W-2.
Choose "Allocate by Number of Days"
Enter 33 days you actually worked in NY. TurboTax will calculate the percentage of your federal wages that NY is allowed to tax.
2. K-1
Entered in the federal section with NY listed in the state box.
In NY, look for the "Changes to Federal Income" or "Business Allocation" section. TurboTax should pull the NY-sourced amount from the Federal entry. If it asks you to manually allocate, you only enter the amount listed in Column C of your wife’s NY K-1 (the NY-sourced portion)
3. 529 NY Plan
New York provides a deduction of up to $10,000 (for Married Filing Jointly) for contributions to a NY State 529 plan.
Look for "Adjustments to Income" or "New York Subtractions"
Locate College Tuition Savings Deduction.
Note: Only contributions to the official New York 529 plan (Direct or Advisor) qualify for the NY state deduction. Contributions to other states' plans do not count for this specific NY tax break.

I selected the option to complete my taxes myself, which was clearly advertised at $69. However, I was ultimately charged $119. This is unacceptable. I was provided with a refund link, but my request was denied without justification. I am being charged for a service I neither needed nor used, which is both unfair and misleading. Additionally, repeatedly prompting users to select services throughout the process creates unnecessary confusion and appears to lead to unintended charges. I expect a refund for the price difference immediately.

All of the information for both returns should be done in the W2 forms. You don't need to put the information anywhere else and if any adjustments need to be made you go back to the W2s and make them there.
Did you change jobs this year? If you have more than one W2 and the total amount of Social Security wages between the two W2s is greater than $176,100 then the additional Social Security taxes that were taken out of your check are returned to you as withholding on your tax return using form 1040 Schedule 3 line 11. Is there an amount there?

Yes, as you indicated a child must file their own tax return (Form 1040) if they have over $2,700 in unearned income (e.g., 1099-B stock sales, interest, dividends) for 2025.
Open your TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop return
Search (upper right) > Type form 8615 > click the Jump to... link
Continue to follow the screen questions and answers
While parents can report interest/dividends on their own return using Form 8814, 1099-B transactions (if applicable) usually require the child to file a separate return, potentially using Form 8615 for taxes on unearned income.
What is Form 8615: Tax For Certain Children Who Have Unearned Income
What is the kiddie tax?
Note: While wages are not taxed under kiddie tax rules, they are included in the child’s total gross income, which determines if a tax return is required and if the child qualifies as a dependent.

If your 2024 automobile did not carry over to your 2025 tax return, you must manually re-enter the vehicle in the business assets section to calculate depreciation. Select "Add a Vehicle" under the vehicle expense section (not just general assets), ensure you use "Actual Expenses" (not standard mileage) to trigger depreciation, and enter 2025 mileage.

I'm taking the standard deduction so I cannot use the deduction method , and have to use the credit. It's not a lot of lost credit at hand... I think this is a known problem as it was broken last year. I think Intuit knows it and using it as a devious way to get people to sign up for expert help. I made it to phone technical support and they mysteriously hung up on me...and did not call me back even having given them my phone number. I will not use turbotax next year.

I did call the IRS, the lady talking to me told me that if they had responded "that they're working on it." that they don't need to send them a letter...I did request they make a formal note of it on our individual account. Last communication with employer that said they were busy and still working on it was mid March...but they were busy with payroll. So I'll sit and wait till about 4/13 until we file our taxes? This is also incurring late fees since we still owe other taxes. Besides that, will turbotax account for our adjusted income based on what we fill out on the 4852? Do we still include the original W-2 in TurboTax? I have the exact amount we repaid for bonus, so I assume that impacts boxes 1, 3, and 5 from the W-2?

Both ways end up with the correct gain so the 1099-B decides. Report what matches your 1099-B. Great question /catch.

When completing a State of Illinois income tax return, when figuring out the Illinois Property Tax Credit, in TurboTax you can enter property information for your personal residence and an adjoining lot used for residential purposes. On the next screen, 'Property Taxes', it asks you to enter the amount of 'Property taxes NOT on residence'. Question: If you paid two separate property tax bills, one for your primary residence and one for an adjoining lot to your primary residence that was used for residential purposes, should you enter $0 in this box or do you need to enter the amount of property taxes paid on the adjoining lot?

@AmyC can I also enter 3000 as the basis and 4750 as the proceeds? That would still come out to 1750 in gains. Or is it better to enter 750 as the basis and 2500 as the proceeds?

How do I set up a Trump Account?
What are Trump Accounts?
Note: Once you successfully e-file, your account information will be sent to the IRS and you should receive an email from your new account provider later this year, likely in May 2026. We recommend that you record the 5-digit Signature ID (also called Self Select PIN) as it will be used on Form 4547 when creating your Trump Account.
After you request the account, you’ll get information about activating the account in May 2026. Accounts are expected to become active starting in July 2026.
