If TurboTax is not letting you continue, you can try the following: Go out of your program and go back in. Clear your cache and cookies. Try a different Web Browser. If you are using TurboTax Desktop make sure all updates have been run on your program. You can do this by clicking on "Online" in the black bar across the top of your TurboTax screen. And then select "Check for Updates".
When you are ready to fix your state return, first try these steps to correct your state return:
Sign in to TurboTax.
Select Fix my return to see your rejection code and explanation.
Select Fix it now and follow the instructions to update the info causing the reject.
Once you've fixed the error, select File and follow the instructions to either e-file or file by mail.
If the steps above do not take you to your state return:
Sign in to TurboTax.
On the Your 2025 federal return was accepted! page, open Your tax returns & documents, and then select 2025.
Select Continue your return in the state tax return box.
Select State from the menu.
On the Let's get your state taxes done right screen, select Continue and follow the instructions.
If you have any additional questions or information regarding this please return to TurboTax Community and we would be glad to help.

W2 has HSA amount with code W. If this amount is not included in income, how come, after answering the questions about HDHP for all year, net tax goes down? It appears that TT added code W amount to taxable income, and deducts it only after the interview. Please advise. I wanted to understand where the disconnect is.

I noticed something confusing in my return and would appreciate any clarification. In my federal withholding summary, I see two amounts: W-2 withholdings: ~$30K, Other withholdings: $74. I need to allocate withholding across quarters for underpayment penalty calculations, but I cannot identify the source of this $74. Here’s what I’ve checked: I reviewed my Form W-2 and various 1099 forms — none show a $74 federal withholding. However, when I delete my W-2 entry in TurboTax, the $74 “Other withholdings” disappears. This makes me suspect the amount may somehow be derived from the W-2 entry, but I don’t see where it would come from. Questions: How turbotax get this number? And should I count the $74 in witholdings to calculate tax penalty?

Do you mean start the amended process and just screenshot the entry change reflecting the greater amount in 12W and then the main screen after you next through everything (it was the only change), showing box 1 was still the same? Just curious what you meant by that. Thank you for you answer and any additional information.

Hello! In 2024, I had income while working remotely from MA for an employer in MD. That whole year I was not in MD, all the work was physically than while in MA. Because one of my W2 from was from that employer in MD, TurboTax prompt me to file a non-resident state tax return with MD, which I did. After inquiring, I was told that I didn't need to file tax return with MD. I did get a credit from MA, but it was way less than what I paid in taxes to MD. How do I amend my 2024 tax return to keep only the MA state return? I'm able to amend online, I appreciate if anyone, who is familiar with the two-state tax return and MD, can describe exactly what to modify to amend online in TurboTax. Thank you!

Thank you for the reply, but Turbo doesn't allow me to enter in 0 when asked for ownership percentage. Error message says "Percentage must be greater than 0". Is this just for Turbo to help auto-calculate the allocation for expenses, so i could put 0.01 and then choose to do my own allocation?

TurboTax generally only populates Form 8962, Part V if the Alternative Calculation for Year of Marriage actually reduces your tax liability. If your joint income is high enough that the alternative method doesn't save you money compared to the standard calculation, it will not complete the Part V.
For the calculation to work, income must be correctly allocated to the spouse who earned it. If all income is listed under one spouse or not properly distributed by month, the "behind-the-scenes" math may fail to trigger a benefit. If your combined income exceeds 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, you typically have to repay the full Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC) regardless of the marriage calculation, which might make the alternative calculation irrelevant.

The "Buy American" benefit you saw is a federal tax deduction established under the Working Families Tax Cuts (part of the "One, Big, Beautiful Bill" passed in 2025), which allows you to deduct up to $10,000 per year in interest paid on a loan for the motorcycle.
To qualify for this deduction, which is available for tax years 2025 through 2028, your Harley-Davidson must have a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) starting with 1HD, confirming its domestic assembly (not all models qualify, so double check this.)
This deduction can be claimed even if you take the standard deduction rather than itemizing.
