If you had excess contributions that you did not withdraw in time, then it is likely that the 5329 was automatically generated by TurboTax.   If you have the desktop product, go look for Forms on the upper right, then the list of forms on your return will appear on the left. You can scroll down to the 5329 and view it.   If you are using the Online product, you can't actually see the form, but you can see the list of forms by going to Tax Tools and the left, then under that Tools, then back in the center Delete a Form. You don't want to actually delete a form, but this will let you see the list of forms on your return.
New tax withholding for what exactly?   There are changes to the tax code for overtime, tips, seniors and new car loan interest.  Are you referring to one of these?

If you are seeing a Smart Check message asking you to enter QBI At Risk Op Loss, be aware that there are several lines on this section of Schedule C that you need to complete. It may appear that the software is in a loop, but if you keep entering zeros, you will eventually move onto another topic or finish the review process.   Your other option is to go to Schedule C and edit the carryover topic under Uncommon Situations. Check the box that you have At-Risk Carryovers and follow the interview. Again, you may enter zeroes on all lines or you may have information from your prior year return that does need to be entered. When you're finished, run Review again.

I received a notice from the IRS stating my QMID number is incorrect. I verified the QMID I7Q6 Amana/Daiken manufacturer which is on their approved list. It is my understanding that there are issues with the I looking like an L. However, on my form it clearly has the I with the line on the top and bottom of the I.  Another issue I have found is that on the 5695part 2- 17a,b and c all are checked NO. according to the IRS instructions on the worksheet, if any of these are answered NO you will not qualify for the Energy Efficiency Credits. The IRS wants me to resubmit the 5695 which I am trying to do. I cant seem to get any assistance from the IRS on those questions and they said to contact my preparer.  I see two issues. Please advise.
You just have to be more patient at a very busy time.   There is nothing you can do to speed it up.

Your parents already put your SSN into the system, so that e-filing will not work for you.  Waiting for their amended return to be processed will not help you. You can print, sign and date your own return in ink, and file it by mail, or you can try getting an IP PIN and see if you can e-file.   GET IP pin in order to e-file if your SSN was claimed on another return   https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-takes-steps-to-help-prevent-refund-delays-by-accepting-duplicate-dependent-returns-with-an-ip-pin-for-2025-filing-season-taxpayers-encouraged-to-sign-up-soon-for-ip-pin-online-account     https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/get-an-identity-protection-pin

Things you can try are:   Select Resend verification code to request another code. Make sure you leave the TurboTax window open, as closing it will invalidate the code. Open another tab or window or use a different browser to check your email for the code. If you're using a mobile device, it's okay to open your email app or another tab in your browser. Just keep TurboTax open in the background and return when you've got your code. If you still have issues, you can contact us.   What if I'm having trouble with my filing verification code?

To fill out the cost basis of your home that was damaged by storms you would enter the original purchase price of your home plus the cost of any major improvements thaat you have done (such as a new roof or deck). This should not included the cost of repairs. It is the total investment in your property before the damage occurred by the storms.   Things you can do to report this loss: Document your cost basis, insurance reimbursements, and fair market value to calculate losses not covered by your insurance. If the storms were a federally declared disaster area, you can choose to claim the loss on your 2024 or 2025 return. Reconstruct your records using photos, bank records, and insurance payout reports to prove the value To get to your screens in TurboTax to report your casualty loss you can: Click on Search at the top  right of your TurboTax screen Type casualty loss in the search box Click on the link that says Jump to casualty loss Your screen will say Did you have anything damaged or stolen in 2025? Answer Yes. The next screen asks for Event Details. Answer and Continue through your TurboTax screens to answer all follow-up questions.   See also:  About Casualty Deduction for Federal Income Tax  What if I have property that was lost or damaged (a casualty loss)?
