This reject code is because a dependent on this return has filed their own tax return without indicating they would be claimed as a dependent.    If a dependent mistakenly indicated no one can claim them, the IRS has a new procedure that allows your return to be efiled. You can get an Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) for the dependent, enter this on your return and re-file electronically.    Here are some good references: IR-2024-294 Age, name or SSN rejects, errors, correction procedures Protect Yourself From Tax-Related Identity Theft: Get an Identity Protection PIN

Reject code IND-507-02 indicates that the Social Security Number (SSN) of the second dependent listed on your tax return has already been claimed on another filed return.   Did this dependent file their own tax return and if so they probably did check the box for being a dependent.

First check here: How to Check your E-file Status.   What else did the notice say? They will usually not contact you to say you didn't file. Make sure it is a legit notice.   You will need to contact the IRS for information. It might be easiest to set up an account with them.   IRS Individual Online Account   Taxpayers with a Social Security number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number can create or access their IRS Individual Online Account to get information they need to file their return. With an IRS Individual Online Account, people can: View balance owed, payment history and schedule payments. Cancel scheduled payments. Get transcripts. View or create payment plans. See digital copies of some IRS notices. View key data from their most recently filed tax return, including adjusted gross income. Validate bank accounts and save multiple accounts, eliminating the need to re-enter bank account information every time they make a payment. View, approve and electronically sign power of attorney and tax information authorizations from their tax professional.

You sure the IRS is saying you didn't file the tax return?  Or that you didn't pay the tax due?   Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out. Turbo Tax only passes your bank account number to the IRS or state for them to take it out of your account. And the IRS or state does not update Turbo Tax when or if they get your payment.   If they didn't get  your actual 1040 tax return you will have to print and mail it now.

If you have a 1099-Misc, there should be an EIN on it from the entity that issued it.  It is listed as the Payers TIN on the form, directly below the payers name.

@DawnC, thank you for replying.   Yes, I'm looking at my 140X Arizona Amended Return.  It's filled out and has the "Itemized" box checked off on Line 34 Deductions.  Although I didn't itemize on my Federal return, the Schedule A did flow through to my Arizona return as it should.     My issue is that I have no idea why TT now thinks the "2025 Form 140X - "Standard Deduction Increase for Charitable Contributions" worksheet should be filled out.  As long as I'm itemizing, this form should never be filled out.  It's only for taking an increase to a Standard Deduction.   My contributions are filled out on AZ forms: 301 - Nonrefundable Individual Tax Credits and Recapture for Forms 140, 140 PY, 140NR, and 140X 321 - Credit for Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCO) and, 322  - Credit for Contributions Made or Fees Paid to Public Schools

What does it say in the account you used for the 2024 return?    Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”   If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, or just never filed, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2024.     Do you know how to access the account?   You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.    https://myturbotax.intuit.com/   Start a 2025 return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/01/27010     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/save-2021-turbotax-online-return-pdf/L8dHfRkpT_US_en_US?uid=m5y4ch1y   Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/many-intuit-accounts-turbotax/L9aVfKS1Z_US_en_US?uid=ll5g6zcx Account Recovery   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/many-intuit-accounts-turbotax/L9aVfKS1Z_US_en_US?uid=ll5g6zcx   Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/find-last-year-tax-data-file-tax-file-computer/L0XJvPaJr_US_en_US   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/data-systems/find-tax-data-file-mac/L4VNGm33S_US_en_US?uid=m6guhab0

Yes, if the income from the other state took you above the filing threshold, then you would need to file a NY IT-203.  The NY Adjusted gross income Federal amount is the amount that is reported on your federal return.  This is the amount that determines if you have to file a NY tax return.  If that amount is above $3,100 then you will need to file the IT-203.

The Covered California site is worded poorly.  You cannot double dip.  Meaning, you cannot take a deduction for the same money spent on the insurance for both self employed health insurance and itemized deductions.  The only way you can use the premiums for both would be example....You have a profit of $1,000 and paid premiums of $4,000.  You would be able to deduct the $1,000 as self-employed health insurance since you cannot deduct more than your profit and then deduct the remaining $3,000 as itemized expenses.  However, the itemized expenses are limited to the amount above 7.5% of your AGI.
