@Opus 17 Where did you find the info regarding not following the 6 month time frame (when well past 65 years old), but rather to adhere to the dollar amount limitation? Every article I've found in my research states to stop contributing 6 months prior to enrolling in Medicare. I even did a live chat with Medicare yesterday and gave them all of the details, and they too said that it's not the dollar amount, but the 6 months. The rep was also very clear that you cannot contribute to an HSA once you enroll in Medicare. If you have link I could refer to, that would be great!!

What do you mean "....owe all together"? For federal and state? Did you actually get the first 2,182 refund? You will still get the first original full refund (and keep it) or need to pay the first tax due. You should not amend or change your return until you get the refund from the original return or your payment has cleared. The amended return will only be the difference you get back or need to pay. You can confirm this by printing your amendment and looking at the 1040X. Line 18 should be your original refund amount and line 21 should be your additional refund. If you paid on your original return it will be on line 16 (but don't include any penalty on 1040 line 38). If there is an amount owed with the amendment, it will be on line 20. Go by the actual 1040X. Line 18 should be your original refund amount and line 22 should be your additional refund. If you paid on your original return it will be on line 16. If there is an amount owed with the amendment, it will be on line 20. Ignore any 1040V voucher that prints out and the new 1040. Those are what your return would have been if you had not needed to amend.

It depends. If you made a direct rollover of your 401(k) to a SIMPLE IRA annuity, your Form 1099-R should show Code G in Box 7, which indicates a rollover from a qualified retirement plan to another qualified plan or IRA.
A direct rollover is a non-taxable event for Federal and state tax purposes.
Here is a TurboTax article on 401(k) rollovers.

No. A 457(b) plan does not technically qualify as a qualified retirement plan under IRS definitions. A 457(b) plan is legally classified as a non-qualified, tax-advantaged deferred compensation plan established by state and local governments or certain tax-exempt organizations.
For your 2025 tax return, your pre-tax contributions to a 457(b) plan are reported on your Form W-2 in Box 12 using Code G. If you take a distribution or make a withdrawal from the plan, that income is reported to you on Form 1099-R

The credit amount also doesn't appear on line 53 of What-If Worksheet (but does magically appear in the total on line 55). More evidence that TurboTax hasn't fixed things fully.

The calculations work much better when you go through the program. I tried desktop and online versions and do not see an issue with the current year.
I wonder if pulling in the prior year created some extra bit of data that is causing your issue.
Are you able to go through and answer the questions stepping through the program and have the new data hold or is it not accepting the new data?
