I'm a long term TT user.  It has slowly deteriorated the past few years but this 2025 version is horrible. If I could return it I would.  I will attempt to struggle through, if I am successful it will take me hours longer than usual.  There are some thing AI or FAQ's have yet to handle better than humans.   If I could get to a human I might be able to get an answer to the road block TT has planted squarely in the road of my progress.

@Cbowm1 It's possible yours might get rejected again since you resubmitted yesterday. Anyone who submits today should go through.

It depends. If you itemize deductions (versus taking the standard deduction) and if your medical expenses are more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income, you can include insurance premiums paid in medical expenses on Schedule A, Itemized Deductions.   See this TurboTax article for more information: Are Medical Expenses Tax Deductible?

We know ItsDeductible is kaput and I've prepared for that. However, my desktop TurboTax 2025 has a note saying:   "COMING SOON: We’re working on a new tool to help you look up the fair market value of your item. We expect it to be ready soon, but you can file without it."   Do you or any of the other Experts here have any general knowledge if this is actually something that may come out this year?

I decided to proceed without import. Got all the income entered and tried to save. Ended up crashing the app. Restarted the app and it imported this time. The gremlins are out to get me I guess.

You can use Quick Employer Forms to prepare and file your 1099-NEC forms.   You will see an option on your home page, under Your Account, when you log into TurboTax to create W2 and 1099 forms. Otherwise, you can type "Quick Employer Forms" in the help section (see the looking glass icon on top of your screen) and look for an article on entering employer forms, where there will be a link to the website.
I just corrected the AGI for my wife no new forms.

I appreciate your comments about how to do distributions in the future.  However, I need help with my taxes this year.     I have a 1099-Q form that says the money has been distributed to me.  Tuition was paid, so the 529 withdrawal is a qualified withdrawal. The student is the beneficiary on the 529, but not my dependent.     How do I enter the tuition into TurboTax so I am not taxed on the withdrawal?
Great.  Thank you. I anticipate it will be accepted now.

I was just told by a phone operator that this is a New York State problem, not a TurboTax problem, and that the solution was to print and file by mail. She could not explain why, if New York State only has an efile issue with TurboTax returns, it's considered a NY State problem and not a TurboTax problem. She also could not explain why some people seem to be able to eFile TurboTax NY State returns and others of us can't, or why that would be a NY State problem and not a TurboTax problem.    I'm going to wait and see if we get yet another different answer before I switch to different tax filing software, but this customer service experience is absolutely terrible.

Capital gains are reported on Sch D. There is a short term and a long term line with the final result on Line 16. That amount is carried to your Form 1040, line7a shows your total net capital gain or loss allowed.  If you have capital gains - The qualified dividends and capital gain tax worksheet does the math behind the scenes to determine your final tax on Line 16. If you have losses - Losses are capped at $3,000 for reporting on your tax return and the rest is carried over.
Does the TurboTax Business Desktop version for Tax Year 2025 include the fiduciary form for Kansas (K41)?  Does it allow for e-filing the K41?

unfortunately, TurboTax Premier 2025 doesn't mention 1099-LTC as you noted above. that form name is not to be found anywhere in this year's Premier version. Again, you guys need to get this fixed for the elderly filers who may not be as able to sus out the actual way to enter this data. I spent more than an hour searching online sources to determine how to enter the information under misc medical expenses as a reimbursement. you should add this 1099-LTC topic to your FAQs and to the search terms that FIND the right place for data entry. Don't slack on this point because most filers don't get LTC income - you handle far less common items than this so please fix this and get an update pushed out ASAP.
