This does not work on my TT Desktop tax filing. My return rejected by IRS for refund. Realize there is difference between accessing TT via desktop program and going online-they don't talk to each other. Reps cannot figure issue out either. I did find a State and Income Tax worksheet embedded in my Return dated 2024-what's this all about?? Difficult to talk with Turbo Tax support, not the same tax program as before. I tried to remove WA state form so I could proceed but it didn't work. Do we need to paper file to get refund, waste of time? Does this all stem from the tax taken out for Family leave/extended care?, we had this last year and there was no problem.

When the Form 1040X becomes available you will need to amend to include that W-2.   The 1040X is scheduled to be available on March 4 (subject to change.) Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)     See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return -   CURRENT YEAR https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk     Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

After you install it on the first computer ( the one you bought the License Code for) you can download it to the other system.   You can download both Windows and Mac with your purchase.   Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account to install it all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac).  And the download will always be up to date with all the updates.   See this, at the bottom Common Questions- How to switch from one operating system to the other How to install TurboTax CD/Download software with license code,

I am trying to e-file and here's the thing. All the information is correct. It keeps telling me I need to type my last name in the last name section, I do that, but then it just takes me back to the how you want to file section. I go to the info section and everything is fine. There's nothing to actually fix. It's just not working. I've restarted the program and cleared the cache but still nothing. When I try to file by mail it just doesn't load to that section or give me any options.

Turbo tax is telling me that I cannot deduct tips from income if I do not receive a 1099-K.  Many gig drivers earn less than $600 per year and thus do not receive a 1099-K.  However, they still have the obligation to report the income for tax purposes.  This defeats the purpose of the new rule especially for part time gig workers.  A current work around is to reduce income by the tip amount but why doesn't Turbo Tax include logic to deduct tips from income.  Is there some confusion regarding the law on this matter?

If your 2024 return was rejected, the only way to file it now is by mail.    You need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
As per our FAQ the T777 is still being finalized. The ETA for all forms to be unlocked is early March 2026.

You made a few payments that contained both principal and interest, I assume. Any actual interest paid toward your student loan can be included. Keep proof of the amounts paid and how you determined the interest with your tax file. The IRS knows forms are not sent for amount below $600. @runrainyrun

DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”

Both of you will have to enter Form 1095-A on your tax returns. TurboTax will ask you questions about if the policy was shared with someone and how to allocate the costs and credit.    The percentages that you should enter for your premium, your SLCSP, and your advance payment should be an amount that you and your spouse agree on. It could be 50/50/50 for your premium/ your SLCSP/your advance  or another amount. Make sure you are in agreement and that the percentages on all tax returns add up to 100% together.   TurboTax will calculate the information that should be on your return based on your answers.   Refer to the TurboTax article Where do I enter my 1095-A? for navigation instructions.
