My Merrill tax document does NOT have a 24 digit tracking number on it.  I have reached out to Merrill.

I called TT late yesterday afternoon, and the specialist listened as I described the problem.  I also explained that many people have expressed the same issue here.  The specialist put me on hold while it was reviewed.  The specialist returned to say that there is no indication that the issue is on their radar to be fixed.  It was like I was sharing new information about a new issue.  I have a call scheduled with the same specialist later today.  I am going to re-enter everything, share my screen, and work on it together.  My login shows that I've been signed in this year for over 12 hours in combined attempts to get through this.

When completing Form 5329 in Turbotax Deluxe Desktop (WinPerRelease [phone number removed]), the "explanation" at Waiver of Tax Smart Worksheet - A under line 53 a/b does not save.  I type in explanation and it disappears in form view.  When doing final review the lack of explanation is flagged as an error with an input field available.  Explanation in that field does not save - when completing then running a review again the same error is flagged for a blank explanation field.

I filed and got accepted on 1/29. The IRS website has not updated for a week, but I was told by a Turbo Tax representative that It got accepted and was pending to get into my account, but I have no proof of that information in any capacity, can someone help me understand what's happening please!

As of 7:00am today, Saturday February 7th, 2026, I followed all of the instructions outlined above & the "Declaration to E-File Your State" screen never once appeared as I followed the instructions. The Fix My Return button claims it resolved the issue & I proceeded on to Refile my return. I am now at the Transmit My Return screen and I never saw a spot where I would check the box required to resolve this issue. I am going to submit it now, for the 4th time, with the hopes that this has been fixed per several other posts I have seen on this forum.

It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

Are you self-employed?   If you are self-employed it goes on your Schedule C with other business expenses.   If you are a W-2employee you cannot enter anything about your cell phone on your federal tax return. W-2 employees cannot deduct job-related expenses on a federal return.  Job-related expenses were eliminated as a federal deduction for W-2 employees by the tax laws that changed for 2018 and beyond.  Your state tax laws might be different in AL, AR, CA, HI, MN, NY or PA.     If you are preparing a return for a state that lets you deduct job-related expenses, the information will flow from your federal return  to the state return, so enter it in Federal>Deductions and Credits>Employment Expenses>Job-Related Expenses

Hello all! We have the same issue and concern about the delay in the rental properties section (specifically for us - we sold a rental property in 2025). Received the same notice - 'available in February'. Called the TurboTax Support Line yesterday after waiting ~35 minutes and spoke to a rep - he said it would be available in mid-Feb. This is curious - the OBBBA was passed in early Jul 2025 - why is it taking so long? We cannot file until this gets updated. Any other news on this? Thank you, Mark
I didn't know about a 1098-T form until this year and am wanting to file my 1098-T form from 2024 along with 2025
