If your spouse has self-employment income, her business expenses go on Schedule C.   That is different from the Schedule A where you enter "itemized" deductions such as mortgage interest, medical expenses etc.  You can use standard deduction and have Schedule C on the same joint tax return.     If you have self-employment income for which you will pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare,  you will need to use online Premium software or any version of the desktop software download so that you can prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/self-employed/help/how-do-i-report-income-from-self-employment/00/26653   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/self-employed/help/what-is-the-self-employment-tax/00/25922   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/enter-self-employment-business-expenses-like-home/L1k6HJY4A_US_en_US?uid=m6jrthmp     If you live in a state with a state income tax, you might need to make estimated payments to your state.   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/small-business-taxes/the-home-office-deduction/L1RZyYxzv https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/estimated-taxes/make-estimated-tax-payments/L5svMESaC_US_en_US?uid=mdna5aoh     https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/calculators/self-employed/   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/business-taxes/discussion/self-employed-don-t-miss-these-tax-moves/00/3400413     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/enter-schedule-c/L5Fz3j5us_US_en_US?uid=m6a6gknk   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/payroll-additions-deductions/qualify-qualified-business-income-deduction/L0rM2cIIQ_US_en_US?uid=m5zpoxad   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/self-employment-taxes/self-employed-expenses-deduct/L37ZS1B8T_US_en_US?uid=m6fntpg7

No, you cannot mix and match when you are married. The IRS requires that if one spouse itemizes, the other must also itemize (even if their deductions are $0).   Your wife is correct about the marketplace insurance (1095-A). To be eligible for the Premium Tax Credit, the IRS generally requires you to file a joint return. See: Eligibility for the Premium Tax Credit

You would only need the TurboTax software if you were amending a prior year tax return, 2022 thru 2024. Go to this website for the prior year desktop editions, Windows or Mac - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/   See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a prior year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US?uid=ld1n99kr   If you need to amend the 2025 tax return, you can use the online editions. You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return. If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again. If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
