You should have received an email explaining the reason the extension was rejected. Since you filed a federal tax extension and it was rejected, you have until 11:59 PM on April 20 to resubmit or mail your extension.    You can also get an extension by paying all or part of your federal income tax due. Choose Extension as your reason for payment. If you do this, you don't need to fill out a separate form.
Yes, your request will be filed with your return.  You should hear from them after it is accepted.

Q.  Would tuition exemption be considered as veterans education benefits? A. No.  But the effect is typically the same; the benefit is not taxable and you can not claim the tuition covered  by it, as a qualified expense for the tuition credit.    If you're looking for something more specific, provide more detail.
You must have entered it as a new IRA contribution under Deductions.   Do not enter it there, delete it.  Only enter it from the 1099R, nowhere else.
TT will see the 1099-INT for foreign tax credit if there is an amount in box 6.

An award or scholarship is considered unearned income to a point.  You cannot change this.  TurboTax is handling it properly. Basically, if she received income that was for services performed like building a house, then that would be reported on a 1099-NEC as self-employment income and subject to SE taxes. If you entered the income as scholarship income or income not received for services performed, then this would be unearned income.  What is unearned income?
Thank you so much!!!!!! SOLVED

Having a bit of an issue with my MA return regarding a Roth IRA Distribution that was entirely made up of contributions. Using simplified numbers below:   I've contributed $15,000 to my Roth IRA that I opened in 2017. I withdrew $10,000 in 2024. My federal form is showing that this income is not taxable, however my MA says:   Your federal taxable IRA/Keogh plan distributions received during 2024 is $10,000. To determine the taxable amount for Massachusetts, enter the following information:   Other contributions previously taxed by Massachusetts: Total Distributions Received in Previous Years:    Only $2k of my Roth contributions were made while living in MA. Does this mean I need to enter $2k in the other contributions field? Or since it is federally exempt from tax, should I enter in the full $10k?
