There is a Notice on the CRA's website, maybe this is what happened to you?  The CCR rural supplement was paid out to some people who were not entitled to get it. To maintain a fair and equitable tax system, the CRA is required to recover any overpayments or payments made in error. Impacted individuals will receive an official notification starting April 15, 2025. Find out if you qualified for the rural supplement.
Thank you for your explanation.  I appreciate that you actually tested instead of just throwing out a 'it should be' response.
Owe KY taxes.  Was supposed to be deducted from bank on 4/15.  So far, not done.  Is there an issue a known issue?

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.   STATE RETURN Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   To track your state refund:       ttps://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0

Hi there, Amy - I wanted to update you. Firstly, I filed an extension with NY to give more time to resolve this issue. My employer sent a corrected W2 (in the shape of a W2-c form, with 1 number in all boxes 18-20) and I went back in and revised the information to reflect the corrected information, and attempted to refile. Unfortunately Turbo Tax still rejected it citing a 'data mismatch'. There seems to be an issue with the automated system, so nothing I put in these boxes seems to make a difference. Is there anything else I can do to file electronically, for example by deleting and starting over for State (Federal is already filed) - or do I need to resort to mail filing? If filing by mail, I would appreciate any advice - for example, do I mail both the W2 and the W2-c? I've never filed by mail before (been filing with no problem through TurboTax for 8+ years), so am anxious to get this right so we can receive our refund (TurboTax tells me we are owed $1200 for state taxes). Thank you in advance for your help!

I am afraid this is not a Microsoft issue. As I  have already mentioned in my earlier post there are umpteen examples where vendors support their software backward compatible with Window 7 and even XP. Supporting an older OS that is not being updated should be easy. It simply boils down to money. Perhaps Intuit will reconsider its strategy weighing how important is it to retain long-time existing customers.
I'm not sure that if I don't declare that Etsy remitted those taxes for me, I'm going to end up paying more on taxes.
Yes, it should be reported on the T1135.

I use a combination of excel and prior year TT version (desktop -  not sure online allows this), to run a couple of estimates during the year, just need to allow for changes in tax laws so deductions/limits are slightly different eg 401K/HSA, but gets close enough using prior year software.  You can also do final tax table calculation manually in excel if needed.  You can model a W2 based on pay statement and estimate final withholding etc; you’ll need to estimate interest and dividends - most brokerages provide tools to project income based on current holdings but won’t project reinvestment from bond maturities so you have to allow for that etc.  Once you have a baseline AGI and tax, you can start plugging in hypothetical 1099-R or cap gains into TT to see the effective tax rates for those and where you may trip up e.g. triggering 3.8% NIIT.  There may be other tax tools that are available more timely for 2025 limits/brackets.   Navigating the estimate tax safe harbor depends on your situation as to whether you can use 100% of 2024 and then timing and amount of cap gains or Roth conversion doesn’t matter penalty-wise but may be an overpayment.  You can also start out with that method and reduce estimated tax later in the year once situation is clearer, as overpayment in earlier quarters will eliminate underpayment later but you can’t eliminate an underpayment earlier by overpaying later.  Personally I did a Roth conversion last year so I paid more ES in Q4 and filed with AI method and was able to eliminate the penalty but found it a lot of extra work (need to do state also).  This year I expect my situation to be stable so I’m just keeping it simple and doing 100% of 2024 ES and then doing Roth conversion now instead of Q4.

So as BillM223 notes, TT does not to test the age of the filer when an HSA rollover is done and transferred to the CA state version. He shows the Windows version interview way to fix in his helpful answer, but with the Mac version that does not work so I had to go into forms and add the rollover amount to line 2 of 3805P to cancel the error and used exception 12 (in the end, before filing). Also reached out to the CA FTB and they indicated it is an error in TT and that it should be fixed, but TT does not have a portal to report errors that I can find.

Never did get this to install on my main PC, but had no issues at all on my son's laptop. I've installed multiple prior versions with no issues, and have full administrator rights, anti-virus and Windows defender turned off. It definitely isn't a PC issue or a display issue, but is something within the program that is different than its previous versions. I'll be reconsidering the product for next year.
