If you entered that you transferred your Clean Vehicle Credit to the dealer in your Federal return, there is no specific entry you need to make in your New Jersey return to indicate this.     New Jersey offers separate programs like the Charge Up New Jersey point-of-sale rebate and a sales tax exemption for zero-emission vehicles, which are handled at the time of purchase and do not require entry on your NJ tax return.     @kgraghu

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Look at your Filing Instructions or the Federal Information Worksheet within your tax return PDF to see your specific tax return payment date.   Sign in to your TurboTax account. On the Tax Home page, scroll down to "Your tax returns & documents." Select the relevant tax year (e.g., 2025) and click Download/print return (PDF). Once you open the PDF, and Look for a section titled "Balance Due/Refund" or "Electronic Filing Instructions." It will list the amount you owe, the bank account used, and the "Date of Withdrawal" or "Requested Payment Date."  OR... Scroll down to the "Federal Information Worksheet", Part V (it will list your direct deposit or electronic funds withdrawal information);. Note: If you did not choose a specific date, TurboTax defaults to the tax deadline (April 15).

There is nothing on the 1099-R to show that it is a QCD.   Instead, in the 1099-R interview, there is a screen that states "Do any of these situations apply to you?" If you checked "I transferred all or part of this money directly to charity", then TurboTax treats this distribution as a QCD.   If you believe that this 1099-R is mistakenly being treated as a QCD, then delete the 1099-R and re-enter it.

@bobgood47 wrote: I just downloaded a fresh copy of my 2025 H&R Block return in pdf form and tried importing it into TT. Says there is an error but no indication as to what the error is. I think I was a bit confused. The idea here is to transfer a return prepared with a 2024 version of H&R Block into a 2025 version of TurboTax. I don't believe you can somehow import a 2025 H&R Block tax file into a 2025 version of TurboTax.    Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? If you started a 2025 return with H&R Block, you can't do anything with that file if you now want to prepare your 2025 return with TurboTax.

No, you do not need to "maximize deduction"  to claim the energy star window tax credit, as it is a nonrefundable tax credit, not a deduction. You claim 30% of the product cost (up to $600 annually) using IRS Form 5695 when filing your taxes.   To get this credit you must enter your windows in the residential energy credit section of TurboTax.    Yes, Energy Star windows are generally eligible for a federal tax credit if they meet Energy Star requirements. They are eligible for a credit (up to $600) rather than a full deduction of the $29,500 cost.    Under the Inflation Reduction Act, you can claim 30% of the cost, up to a maximum annual limit of $600 for windows.   To enter your windows you can follow the steps listed below.   Click on Search in the top right of your TurboTax screen Type residential energy credit in the search box Click on the link Jump to residential energy credit Answer Yes to I made these energy-efficient improvements or have a carryforward and click on Continue Your next screen asks about living arrangements Answer and Continue Answer Yes to my home is in the U.S. and Continue through your TurboTax screens  On the screen that says Did you have any of these residential-related clean energy costs in 2025? Answer No and Continue  The next screen asks Did you have any of these qualified eneregy efficient improvements in 2025? Answer Yes and Continue Continue through your screens and answer the questions. On the screen that says Tell us how much you paid for energy efficient improvement you will enter your window costs and Continue Continue through the rest of the TurboTax followup questions    Click here for Where do I enter qualified energy-saving improvements? I was able to switch back to the desktop version and file that way.  Intuit should fix that in the future.

The "HBC account number" on your Alabama tax return refers to the First-Time and Second Chance Home Buyer Savings Account. This is not a number assigned by the state, but rather the account number given to you by the bank or credit union where you opened the savings account.    Where to Find Your HBC Account Number Check your monthly or annual statements for the specific "Home Buyer Savings Account" you opened. Log in to your financial institution's website and look for the account details for your First-Time Homebuyer account. Look for the documents you signed when you established the account at your local bank or credit union
