Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

"5 days early" means you are supposed to receive your federal refund from one to five days sooner than the refund date shown on the IRS refund site. If it does not meet that "at least one day sooner" date, they are supposed to refund the $35 fee.
You have to pay attention to the date on the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

I installed energy efficient windows in 2025. Per Form 5695, I must provide the Qualified Manufacturer Identification Numbers starting with the QMID of the provider. The provider reports that their QMID is V9W0 and that it does not qualify for the energy credit. Is their reporting accurate concerning credit for the windows? Or can you provide a reference for acceptable QMID numbers? If not, Form 5695 requires starting with the QMID. I cannot start with their QMID and still add their 17-digit serial number in the 17-character field on Form 5695. What should I enter?

(your) Step 7 never arrives. I only get asked if I moved funds to a Roth IRA. The page specifically says to answer no if I transferred to a traditional IRA. When I select NO it pops out of the entry back to the income list. If I answer yes it still does not work. This should be simple. I selected full distribution, Box 7 is "G" for full distribution and I indicated $o taxed. That should trigger the traditional rollover but it does not. I've gone through the process a dozen times. I've even gone into my browser (Safari) preferneces ahnd empried the cache and deleted cookies, etc. in case something is stuck there.

I turn 65 in October of this year and am thinking of applying for Medicare part A while I stay on my company HDHP. I have a family HSA account which I believe my contribution limit is 8750 plus $1000 Catch up, totaling 9750 I currently plan on depositing 7K to my plan this year via my payroll deductions. My 63 year old Wife does not work and is not on SS or Medicare and is covered my my work plan. My understanding is my limit for this year would be limited for 9 months, (9750/12) x 9 or 7312.50 which is under my planned contribution. Does it make any difference if part of my contribution would be made after my October 20 birthday? IF so, do I need to stop my payroll contributions by my company prior to 10/1? Would this be considered a life event thus allowing changes during the year? My understanding is I can still open a separate outside HSA for my wife until she is 65 and deduct contributions. Do I understand correctly? Thanks

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing of when the IRS releases your refund. You would need to either wait to receive communication from the IRS or contact them directly.
The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance, however, some may take longer if they require additional review.

The IRS gets a copy of the 1099-Q from the financial institution that issued the distribution. The IRS might check to see if the distribution was reported, but it does not MATCH the boxes on a 1099-Q like they do for a W-2.
A, B. C. and D on that TurboTax document does not come from the 1099-Q, it comes from the answers you provide in the interview.
Boxes 1 through 6 should match the paper Form 1099-Q you received.
This document is used to calculate if there is any tax due on the distribution, but it does not get transmitted with your return.

To eliminate the error, put a "1" in that field and see if the error persists. This won't impact your return one way or another.

I'm also wondering if somehow 2FA (two factor auth) is causing problems. It really shouldn't since turbotax isn't using a direct API call but I have had connection issues on other platforms.

I was finally able to speak to a turbo tax higher up. She explained that this year, they are taking their fees out of whichever refund comes first. Mine was California state. It was held for 3 weeks. Today, I finally received my tax refund. The rep did tell me that my Tatar and federal would come together. That didn’t happen.
