To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.

How do you do this in 2025? Clicking on Stocks, etc. takes you to the download screen and does give the option of saying I'll enter it myself as it has in the past.

If you need a corrected Form W-2 because there is an error on yours, you can contact your employer or payroll department to get a corrected one.
If you lost your Form W-2 and you need it to complete your taxes, you should also be able to get a copy from your employer or from your employee portal. Your employer is required to provide you with a copy.
You can also obtain your wage information via an IRS Wage and Income Transcript. See: Get your tax records and transcripts
If you need it to complete your taxes and you can't get a copy you can use your final pay stub to file Form 4852 with your tax return. See: Form 4852
You can also request a copy from the SSA for a fee. Social Security Wage Statement

If you are not showing a loss on Schedule C. Some expenses, such as home office or section 179 depreciation can only be used to reduce your schedule C taxable income to zero, and not to create a loss. Excess deductions for these carry over to the next year. And you have to answer yes to both questions about exclusive and regular use, not just one. The area of your home office must be used regularly and exclusively for business to deduct it. Or you checked the box on 32b saying Some Investment is Not at Risk. If you have money not at risk you can not take a loss on schedule C. If you don't know what it means then probably All your Investment is at Risk (check Box 32a). It means you are using your own money for the business. People usually check the wrong box.

Q. Where can I find more information about this "provision"?
A. IRS Publication 970
Q. Can I find this logic in some Turbotax worksheets?
A. No
Q. Will the fact that she checks the box "someone else can claim me as a dependent" (1040 line 12a) and claiming LLC credit trigger an IRS audit?
A. No. The provision was written for your specific common situation. The IRS is generous with educational tax benefits.

If your 2024 tax return was rejected, it has never been filed and has not ever been processed by the IRS. Do not go anywhere near the word "amend" for your 2024 return. You do not use "amend" to fix a return that was never filed in the first place. What you need to do is simply finish preparing the 2024 return and then mail it in.
You are going to need to enter your 1095A for marketplace insurance. Do you have the 1095A now? Or do you still need to get it from healthcare.gov?
How to find your 1095-A online
Log in to your account.
Under "Your Existing Applications," select your 2024 application — not your 2025 application.
Select “Tax Forms."
Download all 1095-As.
Get screen-by-screen directions, with pictures (PDF, 504 KB).
To enter your 1095A go to Federal>Deductions and Credits> Medical>Affordable Care Act (Form 1095A)
You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it. But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.
Start a 2025 return online and enter some personal information so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.
Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024 returns is now permanently closed.
Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.

If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.
They are available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

This is on Turbotax Premier Desktop. I received some crypto tokens last year and am claiming their value as Ordinary Income (let's say $10). I sold those tokens several weeks after receipt at a loss (let's say $5). How do I properly enter the Basis/Proceeds of the sale to account for the tax I'll be paying on the Ordinary Income vs the short term capital loss I incurred after selling? Don't want to get double-taxed.

I have had the same issue. Last year, 2024, we extended and mailed it in. I tried last years AGI from my 1040 and also tried 0, neither worked. I did go to the IRS.gov site and found my transcript which shows the same number. Still not accepted. I have paid to also e-file both of my required states. TurboTax says my state returns have not been accepted either because my federal return was rejected. If now I am required to mail in my federal, will I then have to also mail my state returns?
