You can get the information needed from your end of year statement from your IRA plans.  Financial institutions are required to send Form 5498 to you and the IRS by May 31, which is after the April 15 federal tax filing deadline.  If you have never looked at your 5498 you should start, and keep copies with your tax records.   The 5498 reports - Traditional, Roth, SEP, and SIMPLE IRA contributions. Funds moved from other retirement plans. (Rollovers and Conversions) The total value of your account as of December 31. Whether you are required to take a minimum distribution for the current year.

The consent I’m speaking of is the first one on the page. The consent with TurboTax not Intuit. I signed thinking it was required form mainly bc there were no options to decline or skip or move forward. It made it appear that without my signature on this I could not file my taxes. But once I saw there wasn’t an option on the intuit data sharing I realized I had made a mistake. And started looking for ways to fix. None of the answers I found online either do not work or send me in wrong direction. Please advise if possible or if I need to find another company to file my taxes. Please note the steps below DO NOT WORK. I have also cleared and redid my taxes and conveniently the questions do not reappear. This is so freaking shady by your company. I will be filing a complaint with the treasurer inspector general for violation of my rights to easily find and change my selection. “The consent forms will be located in Step 3, of the last process of the Review and File Section. Some documents are required to be signed it you want to file electronically. See the steps below to get to that screen From ›ur TurboTax Online home screen select Review and File, and then click on Finish and File. You will see 3 Steps to complete your e-filling process. Share consents are located within Step 3.”
Thank you for the response.  I hope that you will fix this DEFECT soon.

Income from an estate can be classified as both interest and dividends. It can also be classified as other types of income like rent or capital gains. It depends on what assets are held by the estate.    An estate will issue a Schedule K-1 (Form 1041) to report a beneficiary’s share of the estate's income, deductions, and credits. This is used for the beneficiary to report this information on their personal tax return.   You should be able to look at your K-1 to determine what type of income it was. This form must classify the specific types of income passed through the estate to you so you can properly report them on your tax return. These amounts are reported in specific boxes. The box the income is in should say what the income is. Box 1 is for interest. Box 2 is for ordinary dividends. If you do not have a copy of your K-1 you should ask for it from the fiduciary of the estate.   You can use this form as a  guide: Form K-1 Form 1041   Please return to Community if you have any additional information or questions and we would be happy to help.

Per Gemini on 3/26/2025 to the question in the subject line above: Yes, the IRS is accepting electronic amended returns (Form 1040-X) for 2024 tax returns now that the system has reopened for the 2026 filing season following the maintenance/shutdown period . Electronic filing is available for the current and two prior tax years, and e-filing is highly recommended for faster processing.  IRS (.gov) +3 Key Details on Amended 2024 Returns: Availability: E-filing for individual returns (including amendments) resumed in late January 2026 after the annual shutdown, which ran from late December 2025 to January 26, 2026. Due to the complexity of options available for reporting the activity of an S-Corp in North Carolina, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:    Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent." On a Mac computer, choose Share or Help >> Send to Agent. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you.   We will attempt to determine the cause of your experience and possibly provide you with a resolution.

You can get the 1099-INTs you are going to send others from the IRS website, but not the 1099-INT and 1096 you need to report those to the IRS.  I've been looking and looking; this is ridiculously hard when you're an individual, not a business. The fillable pdf doesn't work for submittal to the IRS.  They even warn you against it!

You still use the regular 1099INT & 1096.  It's not just for business accounts.  And you can use Turbo Tax to create them.     Whoever's ssn is on the 1099 enters the whole amount on their return. Then after you enter it, on the next page it will ask - Do any of these uncommon situations apply and pick the first one, I need to adjust the interest reported on my form. Then on the next page fill in their amount as a POSITIVE number and pick the first reason "I received all or part of this for someone else". Then on the other person's return you enter it as a 1099 Int and put their amount in box 1. You can fill out a 1099INT to give them. You will need a 1099INT form and the 1096 Transmittal. If you have the Online Premium version or the Desktop Home & Business you can use Quick Employer Forms to fill them out and efile.   Quick Employer Forms https://quickemployerforms.intuit.com/home   Quick Employer Forms FAQ https://quickemployerforms.intuit.com/faq.htm   How to prepare 1099 & W2 https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/forms/help/how-do-i-create-w-2-and-1099-forms-in-turbotax/00/25869 IRS Form 1099INT https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1099int.pdf IRS Form 1099DIV https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1099div.pdf IRS Transmittal 1096 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1096.pdf
