I have the same issue, and the suggested workaround is not acceptable and the end result does not work for us.   Using “Add a new state” pushes the return into an amended return workflow. That is not what is needed here. The return has not actually been filed with the IRS. It was only printed, and users need to be able to edit the original return and generate a corrected PDF before mailing. That distinction matters: Printed is not filed A TurboTax status of “filed” is not the same as actual IRS submission If nothing has been mailed or e-filed, users should be able to revise the original return without creating a 1040-X If Intuit prevents edits to an original return that has not actually been submitted, that is a significant product problem. What is needed is simple: allow users to reopen and edit the original return until it has actually been filed, and generate a new PDF without triggering an amendment.

I am using the step by step. When I look in the forms list it is not there.
Since TX was your state, you can leave this blank.  As TX has no income tax, adding information to the state boxes may lead to errors while completing your return.

It depends on where the assets were used, such as for a business or a rental.  When the asset is sold, traded or converted to personal use, or and most importantly, the asset began being used at 50% or less in your activity.   Inside the asset, you will indicate the situation based on what did take place. TurboTax will assist based on your indicators in the asset. What is Section 179 Recapture? Please provide more details and we will be able to assist further.

You will have to amend both the federal and state tax returns to add income from additional W-2's.   If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 12 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS. See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk   See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a state tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/need-amend-state-return/L3hGFyaPp_US_en_US?uid=lxxu6xbn

I efiled my federal return on 3/12/2026 and received Federal Return Accepted email on the same day.  After two weeks, the status on IRS website is still 'Not Processed'.  Using TT to check the filing status, and it thinks I have not file the return and proceed to the efile option.   Should I wait or shoud I file another one?  What happened if I file it again?  Is it possible that TT efiled my return but IRS never received it?  I need some advices before April 15.

@lesleyann04  If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return. For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/ Tax Products Group Contact Information - https://help.sbtpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/230084587-Contact-Information Call 1-877-908-7228 Or email - TPG-CSsupport@greendotcorp.com

There are various reasons whey you cannot use pay with refund.    Since the pay with refund option has a $40 additional charge and your tax refund is sent to a third party processor for removing the TurboTax account fees thereby adding additional time and possible delay in the refund, it is probably good that you cannot use that option.   Pay the TurboTax fees with a credit card or debit card.
Yes I requested for the TurboTax fees to be taken out the federal refund.

Thanks, but that doesn't help.  I know the entries are there because the summary numbers in the Summary for this Account page are darned close to my statement.   So what's the problem?  Why can't I edit all entries...and why do the Form 8949s look abbreviated when I view the form? I want to see all my detail and I don't think that is too much to ask.  Anyone?
im trying to select pay with refund but it wont let me.
