Thanks -  good - this is where I thought the figures needed to be added. I added theses here originally, however - when I split two figures between New York and Multiple States, I get no change in the NYS tax due and the form IT-201 page 1-2 line 20 is still blank. (this is the form location where the interest income on state and local bonds from non-NY sources need to be entered).   Thanks
Thanks.  I am an Ohio resident so it sounds like everything should be included.
Employee business expenses are not deductible on a federal tax return.

To correct an incorrectly checked "at risk" box in TurboTax, you must locate the "At Risk" Question.   If you are using the Online version: In the search icon, search for Schedule C and select the Jump to Schedule C. Select Edit or Review. Go to the Uncommon Situations section and select Start or Edit next to "Carryovers, limitations, at risk information." On the "Do you have any of these other business situations?" screen, uncheck the box that says "I have money invested in this business that I'm not at risk of losing." If you are using TurboTax Desktop: Go to the Business tab and select Continue. Find the Final Details section and select Start or Update next to Special Situations. Uncheck the box indicating your investment is not at risk.  If the "at risk" box stays checked or the program won't let you change it, you must manually delete the associated form.   To delete the form, choose whether you are using the Online or Desktop version: How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online? How do I delete a tax form in TurboTax Desktop?

Under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) that Congress signed into law on December 22, 2017, the unreimbursed employee expenses deduction has been suspended in tax years 2018 through 2025. There are some exceptions where you can still use Form 2106 through tax year 2025, including if you were an Armed Forces reservist, qualified performing artist, fee-basis, state or local government official, or an employee with impairment-related work expenses.   State taxes: Job-related expenses might be deductible in your state even if they’re not deductible on your federal return. You can enter your expenses as below and we’ll figure out if you can deduct them.   If you’re self-employed or own a business, enter your business-related expenses on Schedule C instead.   This link has instructions on how to enter your job-related expenses in TurboTax (if you meet the requirements mentioned above).

Hello, I transferred $14,000 in 2025 ($7,000 towards 2024 and $7,000 towards 2025) under SECURE 2.0 from my Edward Jones 529 account. At the time, Edward Jones was NOT able to do a trustee to trustee transfer, and therefore send the full $14,000 to me, as a REGULAR DISTRIBUTION, which I IMMEDIATELY transferred to my Roth IRA. As a result I received a 1099-Q showing the entire amount ($14,000 plus another non-qualified $22,000) as a REGULAR distribution. How do I enter in TurboTax this 1099-Q which should be SPLIT between the $14,000 (qualified) and the $22,000 (non-qualified)? Thank you Willy Pesnec

@jeanninecary wrote: Hi again, a year later. So for 2025 the Clergy Parsonage Allowance was taken out of his State Prison Chaplain pay. The allowance amount is not designated on the W2. I'm not sure how/where/if I need to complete a form to show no allowance overage, etc.    Thank you for any information you can offer, Jeannine The housing allowance must be reported because it is subject to 15% self-employment tax, even though it is exempt from income tax.  After entering his W-2, there is a page for special circumstances, check the box for "religious wages".     You will be asked the amount of his housing allowance, and the amount of his qualified housing expenses (the expenses should be the same or more than the allowance -- but I think you can't enter more in Turbotax, so enter the same number twice.)   You will also be asked if you want to pay SE tax on the wages only, housing allowance only, or both.  If his regular wages have no social security and medicare tax (box 4 and 6), check "both".  If his W-2 wages are being taxed for medicare and social security, then choose "pay SE tax on housing allowance only."

If your W-2G form has blank boxes (commonly 13-18 for state/local taxes) and TurboTax prompts you to fill them, leave the fields blank in TurboTax. Do not enter zeros, as this tells the program that there is tax information, causing further errors   If you already entered "0", delete that W-2G entry entirely and re-enter only the information that is actually on the form. You can follow the screens listed below to do this.   If your state has no income tax (Such as Nevada) or the form didn't show any state withholding, do not select a state from the dropdown menu, and leave boxes 13-15 blank.   If the "Smart Check" or "Review" section in TurboTax is still showing an error try clearing out the data fields and leaving boxes 16-18 blank.   To delete a Form W2-G if you used TurboTax Online you can:   Click on "Tax Tools" in the left panel of your TurboTax screen Select  "Tools" Click on "Delete a Form" Scroll down the list of your forms to find your Form W2-G Click on the trash can to the right of your form to delete it To delete a Form W2-G If you used TurboTax Desktop, you can:   Click on "Forms" in the top right of your TurboTax screen to switch to "Forms Mode" In your left panel of your TurboTax screen find Form W2-G Click on "Delete Form" at the bottom of the form Click on "Yes" to confirm the deletion To get back to your W2-G screens in TurboTax you can:   Click on "Search" in the top right of your TurboTax screen. Type "W2-G" in the search bar. Click on the link "Jump to W2-G" And select to Type it in Myself Continue through your TurboTax screens and answer all follow-up questions. If you have additional information or questions regarding this, please return to Community and we would be glad to help.
