Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

I am the court-appointed representative for mom's estate. I also have a death certificate. Can't figure out how to fill out Form 1310. Since I am not filing an amended return or a Form 834 (since I am filing for income tax, but what this form??) then I guess that I should check Line C "person other than A or B" in Part I. The Turbo Tax interview screen asks if I have death certificate. Which I do. On 2A when asked if a court has appointed a personal representative -- I say "yes" because the court has done so. However, this creates a problem with Turbo Tax. I get an error screen that says "2A No must be no when valid proof of death is in possession." Can someone help me understand this? Turbo Tax has a problem with me saying that I am a personal representative and at the same time, in possession of a death certificate.

Yep. I used the online version, vs the desktop version, and I was able to enter room & board and other expenses earlier this week. So it is now fixed, atleast for the online version.

1 Yes, you can take a tier 3 deduction prorated. Mi has an either/or system. Here are the MI retirement instructions for your age.
2. You do need to get back to that question and make sure standard deduction is selected for your pension since you can't claim pension and tier 3. Possible options:
If you can delete MI and start again, that would alleviate the issue.
Otherwise, stepping through the state again.
Finally, you may need to remove the 1099-R in federal go through the MI state section. Close return and log out. Then add it back in federal and try MI with a fresh start.

One point of clarification. I did not purchase the stock originally. It was a Restricted Stock Award granted to me by the parent company of the company for which I am employed. I have never gotten a w-2 from the parent company, only from one of the companies under it's umbrella. Does this make a difference in how it should be reported? Thanks

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

hi there! Despite various attempts I'm unable to delete the wrong state (Illinois) from the 2025 desktop premier version. Because of this TurboTax wants to charge me $40 dollars to file and finish the correct state (California) when the software came with one free state return. I might have registered the wrong state while exploring whether or not to file a tax return for a family member who lives in Illinois and this, inadvertently might have registered the wrong state for which a tex return will not be filed in 2025. Than you!

Based on your screenshot, it appears that you have short term transactions which are sales that have been held one year or less. If you're unsure as to when you acquired the ETF shares, you could try just entering a date that is less than one year before the sale date to clear this error. Doing so will not affect your tax situation.
To enter the date, go back to the Personal tab and Personal Income. Select Update for Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other. Click Review to review your crypto entries and enter a date acquired less than one year before the sale date for the short term transactions.
If you also have long term transactions that aren't pictured, the acquisition date would then be over a year before the sale date.
