"5 days early" means you are supposed to receive your refund from one to five days sooner than the refund date shown on the IRS refund site.   If it does not meet that "at least one day sooner" date, they are supposed to refund the $35 fee.   You have to pay attention to the date on the IRS refund site. You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds
Thanks for the answer, but this does not work in Turbo Tax premium.  Premium seems to only allow you to put in est tax for 2026. Does anyone have experience with premium?   Karen

I'm using the Home & Business turbotax for desktop.  When I start the personal income section, I get asked if  Rental Real Estate & Royalties still apply.  I've clicked yes and continue, however, I cannot find the Rental Real Estate section.     At the top of the personal income section page it states that 'We've covered all 8 income sections'.  But Rental Real Estate isn't included.   I've checked for updates and Turbotax states that the software is up to date.   Any ideas?   Thanks.

Having the same problem regarding the software telling me that I have a large penalty for insufficient withdrawl of my 2025 RMD.  Ironically my taxes are the same as in 2024 with different numbers and doing the taxes on Turbo Tax for 2024 was a breeze.  There is either a problem with the software or their instructions.  I wonder if their incorrect belief that RMD's for each RMD account must have its own 1099 for 2025 may be causing the root cause of the problem.  Because of this frustration and some other circumstances I have given up on them and have gone to a CPA using different software and may continue to do so in the future as well.

You have to keep the email window open and keep the TT window open  at the same time.  If you keep closing the email that it is why it is not working.

If you filed the 2025 tax return and it has been accepted by the IRS, then you can only amend the tax return to add new information.   The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 02/25/2026   An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS. See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-curr...
