Hi @swatkins316    First, you can check your e-file status. It’ll either be pending, accepted, or rejected. If it's been accepted, track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site. You'll need your Social Security number or ITIN, filing status, and the exact amount of your refund to check your status. You'll find this on the first screen after you sign in to TurboTax. If you mailed your return, wait 4 weeks after mailing your return before using the tool. If it's rejected, fix your return and file it again. If it's pending, wait until your return is accepted. Please see here for additional info.   Did the replies above answer your question? If so, select “Mark as Best Answer” to help others find this thread. It is from 2024. That is disappointing because I'm a very active trader with a lot of data to import. Is there any way to manually import it if I download?
After I changed to partial resident and then back to non-resident, the return is not properly updated.

No, I cannot e-file an amended 1040X or New York IT-201X with Turbotax (even though the originals were e-filed with TT) because they make you change the filing date to last year and then tell you e-filing is closed. The following link you sent is a TT joke. I was able to e-file an amended NY 2022 return with Turbotax but am unable to to the same for 2024. Makes no sense but there it is. I will mail fed and state returns, begrudgingly.   I have been asking folks on here if I should attach TT's updated versions of my original 1040 and IT-201 to my amended returns, as I did for 2022, but I can't seem to get an answer. What do you think? Thanks.   TT's joke:   Can I e-file my federal Form 1040-X amended return? by TurboTax •       4833 Updated January 14, 2026 9:34 AM   Generally, you can e-file your amended 2025, 2024, or 2023 federal return via TurboTax if your original return was also e-filed in TurboTax. However, there's a chance your return can't be e-filed based on your unique situation. If this happens, you'll need to print and mail your tax return. If you're amending your return for 2022 or earlier, you need to print and mail your amended return. Follow these instructions to amend a prior-year return. Your amended return can take up to 20 weeks for the IRS to process. If further review of your return is necessary, the IRS may take longer. Three weeks after mailing your amendment, you can start tracking it at Where's My Amended Return? on IRS.gov.

@loudengineer wrote: Yes it is in the home sale section.  I work through the whole thing and it asks the typical eligibility questions but it never prompts the questions that would indicate it qualifies for the partial exclusion, such as "reason for move". Which is my situation, moving for a job. OK, maybe someone else will be able to test this or I can try to test it at home later.

Hi @xxserenityxx,   If you e-filed your return before the IRS starts processing returns this year, it'll stay in pending status until then. After that, e-filed returns generally sit in pending status for 24–48 hours before being either accepted or rejected. You can read more here.   Did the replies above answer your question? First, if you made contributions by payroll, they are captured automatically from your W-2.  Don't enter them again when asked.  You are only being asked about extra contributions you made out of pocket.   Then, make sure you reviewed the entire HSA interview and indicated that you had qualifying HDHP insurance all year and no other disqualifying coverage.
