Hold on----when you look at your online TT account is it saying "Ready to mail"? If it says that, your return has not been e-filed. You have to go all the way through the FILE section to a big orange button that says "Transmit my returns now" in order to e-file. If you did not do that, then the return you prepared is just sitting there--going nowhere.
If you are seeing something on the IRS refund site about mailing your refund, that is a different story, and only the IRS can explain why they are mailing a check instead of making a direct deposit.
Please clarify where you are seeing verbiage about mailing something.

The bill the extend it for 2025 and 2026 failed. Watch out, I asked Google AI and it said that it was extended. But when i researched further I could see that the bill to extend it DID fail.

Hello There, I contributed $8000 ( aged above 50) in the year 2025 to Traditional IRA and then immediately converted the same to Roth IRA. I did receive form 1099 R and I entered the info about this in the income section. I have question when I fill in the deduction section. 1) In this scenario, do I need to enter anything for Traditional or Roth IRA in the deduction section 2) If I don't enter this for the Traditional IRA, then my taxes are becoming higher and hence this question. Tell us about your IRAs Here I check marked for Traditional IRA and not the Roth IRA Enter the total amount of contributions you put into a traditional IRA for 2025, even if you later transferred some or all of it to a Roth IRA. Learn more Total 2025 traditional IRA contributions , Here I entered $8000 Ravi's Traditional IRAs Did you recharacterize any of the traditional IRA contributions for 2025 over to a Roth IRA contribution? Here I said No IF I do the above, I get $14545 as return. If don't enter anything for the traditional IRA, then I get only $11,500 as return. So I am tryiing to get the max return but at the same time, I want to do the right thing. 3)What are all the sections or places I need to enter when I contributed to Traditional IRA, converted to Roth IRA and received 1099 R Regards, Ravi

You should get Form 5498 from the Financial Institution reporting yearly contributions.
If you have not saved those forms, ask the Bank or Financial Institution for the amount.

If you already e-filed you are stuck with "5 days early" if the return is accepted. If it rejects you can try to remove that option in the FILE section before you re-file.
"5 days early" means you are supposed to receive your refund from one to five days sooner than the refund date shown on the IRS refund site. If it does not meet that "at least one day sooner" date, they are supposed to refund the $35 fee.
You have to pay attention to the date on the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Since you are a non-custodial parent, you will need to use the Single filing status. Because your son did not live with you, you are ineligible to claim Head of Household status.
Yes, you will enter your son's information in the dependents section of TurboTax and indicate on the "Do You Have a Custody Agreement?" screen, that you do have an agreement.
Form 8332 cannot be attached to a return and submitted electronically, but it does not prevent you from e-filing your return. Once you e-file your return, you can look for Form 8453 in the tax return in TurboTax and print it out and mail it along with the Form 8332 within 3 days of e-filing your return. Form 8453 is also available as a blank form that you can fill in at IRS Form 8453.
Other than the signed Form 8332, there should not be anything else required of you from your ex.

I keep getting an error on form 8889-S Line 3A3 that Self should not be checked. It's not letting me change these to "None" or "Family". Message at the top says "You indicated on the Federal Information Wks that spouse could be claimed as a dependent of another, which makes spouse ineligible." I have no HSA, my spouse and I had our own separate insurance plans through our employers all of 2025.

No, I think it was entered in the wrong section. There are two spots. One for just the furnace and a different spot with the electrical upgrade. Follow these steps:
Open to the federal deductions and credits
Continue through until you reach - any residential energy property costs?, select yes
Enter the furnace QMID and cost.
When you continue, the program will ask about the improvements or enabling - the correct answer in no but I think you said yes the first time and your original furnace is in there.
So, go in and delete your original entries.
Now go backwards- select back
change yes to no
You should be set to file again.
