Turbo tax does not seem to be caring the deduction over to reduce Missouri state taxes
I was told I would be charged $40.00 I only need federal taxes done. When I was all done I was charged $119.00. Never told there would be a difference. Sounds like bate and switch to me.

Actually I have a similar situation for 2025.  So I need to amed 2024 return, I guess.   But I have only 1 1099-R from fidelity for year 2025. I contributed 8000 in Mar 2025 for tax year 2024 which immediately converted to Roth IRA and 8000 in Sept 2025 for tax year 2025 (also converted to Roth IRA in the same month). 1) Do I need to add $8000 under wages and income in 2024 return? But I don't have corresponding 1099-R for that year though?     2) I am able to mention add $8000 under Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions in Deductions and Credits. Is it sufficient to generate form 8606 for year 2024 and amend the return?   3) Since it is a nondeductible contribution to Traditional IRA and backgoor conversion to Roth, I don't think it will change any tax for year 2024, right?

In the IRS information you will find the a QMID is required.  IRS Instruction Form 5695 It would be best to double check with the manufacturer to be sure you have the correct code. Also, check to see if they did register with the IRS here. Qualified Manufacturer QMID code (Qualified Manufacturer Identification Number) is a unique 4-digit code required for claiming the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (EEHC). If you confirm all is correct, be sure your TurboTax software is updated with the latest information.    @MRDots

Cash charity donations go to Schedule A with other itemized deductions for 2025--like mortgage interest, property tax, etc.    The "above the line" deduction for cash donations of up to $1000 filing single or $2000 on a joint return goes into effect for your 2026 return that you will file next year in 2027.   The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO.  You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)   The deduction is not on the same line as your standard deduction.  It is shown separately.on line 13b.     2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS SINGLE $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind + $2000) MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind +1600) MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500  (65 or older/legally blind + $1600) HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)     For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra  deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.   (The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)   The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e.  Turbo Tax automatically includes it. IRS Schedule 1-A https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/f1040s1a--dft.pdf   Need to see it? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/preview-turbotax-online-return-filing/L77WCkvnu_US_en_US?uid=m681fkhr   If you are not getting the senior deduction it is because Your date of birth in MY INFO shows that you were not 65 by the end of 2025 Your income is too high You are filing married filing separately

Your refund could be offset.  It could have been offset after the federal released your refund. The IRS and State Governments have the ability to offset a refund to pay for certain past due debts.  You generally will receive a letter stating what the offset was for.    The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107, to call for information about tax offsets.

While entering my 1099Q information, the following question from TurboTax is a bit confusion. It states    Box 6: Is the recipient of the distribution the designated beneficiary? Recipient is not designated beneficiary. Yes No   In my case, the 529 plan sent the distribution to me so that I can pay for my son's tuition. Hence, the recipient is not the designated beneficiary.   If I select Yes, then does it mean "the recipient of the distribution the designated beneficiary" or "Recipient is not designated beneficiary"?

for TT 2025 business.  company is a LLC in California.  My federal return balance sheet is in balance.  On my California return it is not.  difference is on federal there is an entry on line 5b that says "less accumulated assets.  On the california balance sheet there is no number in line 5b, which causes the balance sheet to be out of balance.  when i run ca state error check is says to blank out all entries (beginning of year and end of year), but TT won't let me do it.  I try to enter number in line 5b but not allowed.  I am not sure what is going on.  My 2024 business return worked just fine last year.  What am I missing
