Okay so I verified my identity for my tax refund from year 2021 on October 27th 2025. I read online that you can still receive your refund if it was filed and approved before the 3 year deadline. Can someone please let me know what is going on with that? Thanks
The section that contains the 1099-R, IRA, 401-K is being modified.  It will be available on Jan 21, 2026.

We can't give you a reason why your refund has been reduced.    But you should have received a letter from the IRS if your tax return has been changed by the IRS, or the IRS has used this money to pay off a tax debt.   If this was an offset for another debt (such as child support or student loan), the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) will send you a notice. The notice will reflect the original refund amount, your offset amount, the agency receiving the payment, and the address and telephone number of the agency. BFS will notify the IRS of the amount taken from your refund once your refund date has passed. You should contact the agency shown on the notice if you believe you don't owe the debt or if you're disputing the amount taken from your refund.    If you don't receive a notice, contact the BFS's TOP call center at 800-304-3107 (or TTY/TDD 866-297-0517), Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.   For more information: https://fiscal.treasury.gov/top/

The "Live" experts only help with current year returns---so 2025.   A past year return cannot be e-filed; it has to be filed by mail.    When your returns were rejected you received emails with the rejection message or rejection code.  We cannot see those emails.   But--most rejections are for AGI, and you do not need AGI to mail a tax return.   You can print, sign and date the returns in ink, and mail them to the IRS and state.   You have forfeited your 2021 refund; it will not be paid now.   2022's refund will be forfeited unless you mail it by April 15, 2026.  If you owe tax due for any of those years, it is owed with late filing penalties and interest that continues to add up.   Mail each year separately; do not try to combine them in any way.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
If the federal tax return was rejected, then you received an email from TurboTax, which we cannot see, describing the reason for the rejection.  What does it say?

"Supposedly" that is coming in a future update...not sure it it's the next one though (later this week). _____________________________________ AND...if you have "items" to enter, make sure you FIRST delete any Charities in your list, that  you did not use this year.   A current bug in the program is that if you enter a bunch of "item" donations in some charities, then delete any charity (used or not), then all "item" donations disappear from any charity.   That bug is being worked on too, but only recently confirmed so not sure when that's to be fixed.
You will need to delete Form 8949 before Schedule D can be deleted   Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen Click on Tools Click on Delete a form

If you received a distribution...then YES you have to wait.  You need to enter ALL your income before filing.   IF you don't, then you need up with the later nightmare of amending sometime, but no sooner that 19 February.  An amended file cannot stop the original filing....don't go that route.

If you didn't withhold Federal or State taxes from the payment you made to your tenant, then you can leave boxes 4, 16, 17 and 18 blank.
