So as i was filing my taxes, I choose refund advance and it approved me for up to $2500. I went to connect my credit karma to it and my address wasn't updated so it wouldn't connect. I changed it and went to do it again, it connected but said that now I wasn't eligible for the refund advanced anymore. Got the e-mail... It said I was denied because "Your tax filing must be accepted by the IRS." But it cant be accepted until I file, and I cant choose the refund advance after I file... what can i do?!
Yes, enter the amount on  the line that is labeled 'these are your total payments' from your California 540, Line 78.   @user17697249456
I need a copy of my 2024 tax return I have a new email address and password since filing last year, turbo tax cant find me
Why the does Turbo tax keep sending me answers to my question that have nothing to do with my question. Nothing to do AT ALL. I am so sick of this piece of crab software.
I had same problem. Software reports it got the 1099 data, but returning to Turbo Tax premier edition show not imported data.
You're doing a conversion in 2026 which goes on your 2026 tax return, Meanwhile report $7,000 non-deductible IRA contribution for 2025 made in 2026 on your 2025 tax return. @bryson-tudor

I have a 529 account for my daughter where I am the recipient and she is the beneficiary.  I do not qualify for any of the educational credits but need to enter the expenses (room and board) and tuition to show that I didn't over draw on 529 funds in 2025.   Last year 2024 when doing the 1098T forms, when you clicked the "yes" to the question did you pay for books and materials to attend school. it opened up an entire new section on the same screen that allowed me to enter the total room and board I paid so I could show tuition and room/board were more than what I took out of my 529 and I had no tax liability on my 529 withdrawals.   This year in 2025 TT, when I get to the screen that says "Time to enter <name> educational expenses", there is no way I see to get to another screen that allows me to enter Room and Board Expenses - just required books and material from the school" with a spot to enter an amount and a second question on optional material with a spot to enter an amount.    There is no way I see to enter Room and Board costs.  I've had to enter RB totals on the "required materials" amount, but that then is putting the expense on line 3 (books supplies... ) of the Student Info worksheet and not line 6 (room and board).  I do not see anywhere or any way to get to the screen that asks me about other expenses that qualify for 529 coverage.     Need help to understand what I am missing here.....   I am using TT Premier 2025 Desktop edition
Yes, if you and/or your spouse is over 65, TurboTax automatically uses the 1040-SR.  The $1200 extra senior deduction will be included with Schedule 1-A on Line 13b of your 1040-SR.
It keeps asking me to fill in Schedule C, but everytime I put in the info from Line 1 of my NEC and hit continue it just wants me to do it again and never seems to save my answer.

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. Please notify me by adding @AmyC to your response. If I discover a solution, I will reply. Otherwise, it will be moved on to an investigation team. You can send a token to me by following the directions below: TurboTax Online: Sign into your online account. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.  A drop-down will appear. Select Tools  On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.” This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response. TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions: Open your return. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created. Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

No, you are wrong. I did that, but when I mark "under minimal retirement age"   My Federal Annuity distribution is not excluded Did you read what I wrote? The bug is only apparent when I chose "under minimal retirement age". Mine is not typical case because I am collecting a federal pension from OPM while being under the minimal retirement age.    Fix the bug, or give me a refund.
Hi there! I removed the image for your online safety. Please describe your question in the replies below so the community can help answer your question. Thanks!

You will need to follow these steps:   Step One- in the Federal section, Go to Deductions & Credits. Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid. Click Start/Revisit next to Other Income Taxes. Find the section Withholding not already entered on a W-2 or 1099. Enter the amount of Maryland tax withheld from your settlement. Select Maryland from the state dropdown.   Step Two: in the Maryland state section, Continue through the interview until you see the screen titled "Take a look at Maryland credits." Look under the Other Credits section. Find Maryland Withholding on Real Estate Sales. Enter the withholding amount exactly as it appears on your MW506NRS form. This will report the information so you receive the refund if the sale was excluded from income.   NOTE: Under the OBBBA, the state and local income tax deduction is increased to $40,000 so if you itemize this amount will be included to lower your taxable income.  However, Maryland has an "Add Back" rule that adds this amount as income on your state return if you do deduct it on the federal return.  This may cause you to receive a 1099-G for 2026 state tax refund that gets added back as income.

It sounds like you are in the desktop version now. Follow these steps: Don't start at the top. No zooming needed Identify if this is taxpayer or spouse to get the correct 5329-T or 5329-S Open the correct form Scroll down to part IX and enter numbers directly onto the form.  line 52 - enter total RMD you should have taken from all accounts line 53 - enter total RMD actually taken Waiver of Tax Smart Worksheet  line a - enter the missed RMD due to reasonable error fully distributed within the correction window -enter $ amount  Line 54 a now shows 0 penalty, RC $xx If you scroll up, you should see the correct name and social at the top.  Immediately arrange for a distribution of the funds and tell them that this is missed RMD and you need a separate paper trail as it is not part of 2026 RMD. You will get the paperwork and pay taxes on it in 2026. The IRS knows your end of year accounts balances and expects to see this distribution. You must be diligent that you get the correct RMD this year. The corporation could easily think you got the RMD, despite what you tell them. Reference: Different colors of data indicate input origination What’s the meaning of all the different colors in forms mode?
just use Bond for a CD.  this is not reported to IRS it's just something Turbotax is using to be clever with entry fields mainly for options.

Make sure to Delete both 1095-A and Form 8962.  Then close TurboTax, and clear your Cache and Cookies.   Open TurboTax and step through the 1095-A section again.  If you have an amount in a column with cents over .50, you can round up to the next dollar (i.e., 1.89 to 2.00).   Let us know if this resolves your Efile error.    @Shimya06
