Some have replied that doing an uninstall and a reinstall has worked.
After 45 minutes online with a rep, I was told that these forms will now be released on 2/11 and should be available in an update by 2/13. We'll see.

If you have gone through the troubleshooting process and still not able to update, you may have to contact an agent for further assistant.
This FAQ will provide you with the steps to contact an agent.
This manual update doesn't work for TurboTax Business. It may work for Home and Business but that is not the same product

I still have the update problem. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling this morning and I still get the same error (Failed to install update. Microsoft Installer error: 1603, Fatal error during installation.) when the updater runs. My Win8.1 OS is up to date in terms of updates. I need to manually Update TurboTax Business 2020, but can't find the download. Please help. -- Rob
This looks like a larger issue. I have copies of both TurboTax for Business (Partnership/Trusts) as well as TurboTax Business (for sole proprietors/schedule C). The latter was installed several weeks ago and was operational, including updates. The Business (Partnership/Trusts) just installed yesterday. Both downloaded updates and now fail with a Microsoft Installer Error 1603. Once this error is encountered, I'm prevented from further use of the software. Using Win 8.1, with all updates installed, I'm logged on as an administrator. I've tried turning off the firewall, as well as antivirus software (both are embedded in Win 8.1), all with the same negative results. I need a solution ... any help will be appreciated.
Did you try running in win 8 compatibility mode? The update works for win 10

The manual update for 'Turbotax Business 2020' worked for me as well followed by an 'Online>check for updates' This corrected the 'Form 8960 not ready yet' issue.
Hope others are ok now as well.
'Turbotax Business 2020' working fine as of Feb-12-2021.
