Why is my return still pending?

Totally agree, best thing I did was go with another company yesterday, got accepted within 15 minutes and a larger refund. Sorry Turbotax you messed up big time in a competitive market.

For all those waiting for an email you are going to keep waiting because there is something wrong with turbo tax software in which they are trying to fix hint wait for a second email when half of us didn’t receive the first one. One person on here received it from a tt specialist only after tagging the specialist original post Many times. Another from writing the president but only after many attempts to get answers from different specialist had failed which I don’t even know if they still got resolution after that. Returns are sitting in pending while being told it was rejected by irs because again there is something wrong with tt software coding which isn’t transmitting the emails out. Half of us have filed with different tax service and got approved with in seconds to minutes. Same information noting different then before just who we filed with. I filled feb 8th on tt and still on the site till this day says pending but I know I was rejected because I called the irs. I also was told once you are rejected it’s like not receiving a return YOU CAN FILE WITH ANOTHER TAX SERVICE!!!!! or like a few you can put in more time trying to update a system through a browser and try this that and some more to see if it works or continue to wait for tt to resolve the problem whenever that will be.

This happened to my Federal return and the software update fixed it and allowed me to file.

But my state return has not changed and has been in pending status for 2 weeks.

The state does not show that my return has been filed so howe do I make TT push out just my state return now?

Well I got lucky and finally got the email acknowledging that my federal has been rejected. Now I’m contemplating leaving TurboTax because I don’t want this to happen again when I resubmit

@mrobinson83  I tried to correct mine and I can’t figure out how to do what they told me to do. They gave me steps but I do step 1 and step 2 is not what they are saying it should be. I think I’m going to do HR block now. TT can suck it

It actually told me what the issue was, I went back to the section they were talking about and correct it. I refilled it and it was accepted in about 30min or less.

TurboTax does not receive updates from the IRS once they have accepted your return. The IRS issues most refunds in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. To find out where your refund is, first check your e-file status. If it's been processed and accepted, you can begin to track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.  You'll need your Social Security number or ITIN, filing status, and the exact amount of your refund to check your status. The IRS will issue your refund when your return is approved.

If it has been more than 21 days since your return was accepted,  You will need to contact the IRS  at 1-800-829-1040 and follow the prompts for a live representative. The person that you speak with will have direct access to your tax return and be able to provide you with a status update.

Well well. I resubmitted without fixing it and guess what. Accepted. Turbo tax is a joke and if anything needs to be canceled in this cancel culture society it would be turbo tax.

@Charitysue67  When did you file?  Has state been rejected or both federal and state still pending?  Turbo tax is not notifying ppl when their federal is rejected!!!  My state was rejected a week ago but state doesn’t even look at your return till federal does their job first. I finally got the rejection notice from federal today. I didn’t fix anything and just resubmitted just to test it to see if it really was my **bleep** up or TT. I was accepted 20 minutes later. You were probably rejected but they haven’t told you. If you go to WMR and it says your info doesn’t match then you have been rejected

@jpdp1289 @If your federal was rejected your state will be as well. If you checked status of state and it says info doesn’t match then you were rejected but TT isn’t notifying you. The expert can say turbo tax doesn’t notify them all they want but the txt I got was from turbo tax so they are lying through their teeth or they just don’t know any better
