Why haven’t I received my refund advance after my refund has been approved by the IRS?

You’ll receive your Refund Advance virtual card info within 1 hour of the IRS accepting your e-filed return, by email. The funds will be loaded on to the card within 48 hours. Any balance of your tax refund remaining will be sent to you after the IRS has accepted and processed your tax return, usually within 21 days. You’ll be able to start spending online with your card information after setting up your Turbo Card account. 

Also, a physical Turbo Card will be mailed to you within 5 to 10 business days. The remainder of your refund (minus the Refund Advance amount and any TurboTax fees) will be loaded onto the card when the IRS or state tax authorities distribute your refund (typically within 21 days from IRS acceptance).

It’s been more than 48 hours since my refund was approved. This is awful, not only do I have no idea what’s going on, but to get any real help I have to pay $9.99. I have tried emailing, using this forum, and calling. I have not received any real help, just copies of the refund advance information I have already read 15 times. I have been using TurboTax for nearly a decade, but I won’t use it again. All I want to know is if my refund has been approved, and it’s been more than 48 hours since approval, where is my advance?

The IRS just started processing tax returns yesterday (February 12, 2021) unless you were fortunate enough to be in the test batch group and were processed a few days prior. After the IRS accepts your return, your Refund Advance typically arrives within 3 hours. You also have to agree to receive your refund on a new prepaid TurboTax Visa card. For more information about the card and how to set up your account, please see below:

You are not guaranteed to receive your Refund Advance within 24 hours.  98.5% of people approved will get the Refund Advance typically within a day of IRS acceptance.

Continue to check your email (and your physical mail).  When your Refund Advance funds are ready you'll receive an email with a virtual Turbo® Visa® Debit Card that you can use to make purchases online. You'll receive a physical card in the mail in 5-10 business days (this doesn't include Saturday, Sunday, and official holidays).

You are commenting on an old thread that may have outdated information. 

For this, we ask that you please verify that the primary tax-payer name is the same as the Credit Karma account created for your Refund Advance.  Also, please let us know which version, application, and web browser you were using.  You can respond here in the thread and we will be happy to help you further.

You'll get your Refund Advance funds typically within one hour of the IRS accepting your e-filed tax return.  You'll receive an email when your Refund Advance funds are available to spend. You'll receive a physical card in the mail in 7-14 days.  Your remaining federal and entire state refund (minus any agreed-upon fees) will be deposited to your Credit Karma Money Spend account when the IRS or state tax authorities distribute your refund (usually within 21 days from IRS acceptance).  

Check your return to make sure it includes a copy of the Refund Advance. If it doesn’t, you likely didn’t go through all the steps, or you accidentally selected another payment method that will automatically cancel your RA application. 
 

You have three options to select from to receive your refund:
-Within one hour with Refund Advance.
-Up to 5 days early with Credit Karma Money.
-Up to 21 days with Direct Deposit.
