It is the date you sign the tax return.
Occasionally, it will not accept a date that is a Sat, Sun, or Federal holiday. Also make sure the year is 2019 (not 2018).
I am in turbo tax and trying to input a signature date and any date i put in it will not accept. How can i bypass this?
I cant enter a date in 2019. The system states it has to be from 1/1/2020 to 12/31/2020.
My signature date is not going through, using date/month/2020, not sure how to fix it?
Will not accept today's date as my signature date
Can you please let us know which TurboTax product you are using so we can assist you? Also, what is the year of the tax return that you are trying to complete?
Same problem. Will not accept today's m/d/y as correct. Filing 2021 taxes on extension deadline 10/17/2022. Says that date is "not valid." What is the answer? Can I just fake any date or what?

What is your time zone? Are you filing in the vicinity of midnight in one of the time zones? Wait a few hours and try again, and see if it sorts it out.
That's part of how you "sign" the return. You may be looking at a screen that asks for 3 things: a Self-Select PIN (you choose the digits), your birth date, and "today's date."

Also be aware of this known issue:
Are you using desktop software or Online TurboTax?
In the desktop software (CD/download) there was a recent issue with a programming error early Sunday morning concerning an erroneous message that was appearing saying that the efile deadline was October 15 instead of the actual October 17.
TurboTax corrected that issue with a software update Sunday morning. If you are using desktop software, be sure you download the latest program update.

everything is up to date. just got rejected for the 2nd time. They say my agi is not correct, but irs.gov and the transcript of 2020 says that number is correct. Is it the formatting of the number? How many times can I get rejected before some lock-out or extra charge happens?

There is a very good possibility that the IRS does not have the 2020 AGI for your Social Security number in their database.
Enter a 0 (zero) for the 2020 AGI and e-file the 2021 tax return again.
ENTER 0 FOR AGI. The IRS took a long time last year to process 2020 returns so the AGI didn't get entered in time. Especially if you mailed it. That works for most people. See,

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
Got that "secret code" from Intuit help, probably while you were posting. Also, Intuit says the reason could be EITHER the AGI or the PIN number. I don't even recall it asking for a PIN, much less remember what it is. In any case, I filed again for the third time, and we'll see what happens this time.
