Hi, I am having the same dang issues. Have you found anything out
I filed my taxes and thought it was a bright idea to use CK again since I didn’t have an issue last year. However, I went to request a new card a found out my spend account was closed for -.17. The representatives at CK do not know what to tell people who want answers to why the account was closed or how there is a negative balance. They also don’t know whether your deposit will be rejected or why they are unable to see if the deposit was rejected. I called the IRS and they confirmed that CK has not returned my money so now I have to wait 3 weeks before I will know anything. I have been filing my taxes with TurboTax for 12 years and this will be my last round after this debacle. If anyone has any useful information to help me find my money please advise
This number below doesn’t work for finding out the status of your refund
this number just gave me a busy signal
Once your return has been accepted, TurboTax receives no further updates as to your refund status. Please see the FAQ link provided below to reach out to the IRS directly:
What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
I called green dot also. They actually answer your questions so that was refreshing. I too am being mailed a check.
Credit Karma, and for that matter Intuit should be both ashamed for their lack of customer service and penalized for robbery and providing false information as well as moving money that isn’t theirs around without telling people and making fiduciary decisions for them.
I was told by TurboTax that the IRS would be mailing a check because my spend account had been closed and I didn’t know that until after filing, which in all honesty I was cool with. But that didn’t happen, instead they opened up a Credit Karma save account somehow routed my money to that account (even though on my tax return it doesn’t instruct the irs to deposit my refund there which I still don’t get) . Then they connected that savings account to the bank account that was connected to my spend account and won’t let me change it, I know longer bank with that previously linked bank and the account doesn’t exist.
its been in there for two weeks and last week I needed that money for an emergency surgery and had been waiting on and because of them not being able to find a solution to get me my money my little girl has to wait even longer for a major medical operation. And basically CK said they don’t give two **bleep**s.
With all the **bleep**ing financial technology advances you mean to tell me they can’t sit down and figure out a way to get me my money instantly, or how bout this. . . open my **bleep** spend account back up because I know it’s not even closed because if it was the money would have never been able to be deposited there by the IRS. **bleep** I don’t know why they can’t send me a wire transfer or give me a virtual card linked to my save account or cashapp me and keep the money, or anything.
They basically said nothing we can do. But if they don’t figure it out and something bad happens to my daughter, rest assured I will find whomever responsible for these insane policies and I will get even. Eye for an eye. Better sleep with one open your sorry worthless excuse for a company

I don't understand what's going on,
You say your tax refund might be rejected by Credit Karma if your account is closed but ours wasn't it went into our account and we had no idea it was closed. I'm so confused on how a prepaid account can be closed this Credit Karma isn't a credit card it was debit. There are many of us who depend on our income tax for personal reason and we trusted Credit Karma with our funds. Why is this happening? I was told that all y'all could do is send a check but after reading other complains I really lost on what's happening and I need my money for so many reasons. Please gives us strait answers. Did something happen in y'all's end and don't know how to fix it? I was a very happy customer and had been one for many years but now just confused what's going on?
The IRS should not be able to deposit your refund in a closed account, if it is indeed closed. Once your tax return has been filed, there is no way to update your refund method. If Credit Karma closed your account, they will most likely reject the deposit and the IRS will mail your refund check to the address on your tax return.
TurboTax only assists with your tax return and does not have access to your tax refund that comes from the IRS. You may need to contact Credit Karma for assistance with an update. Please reach out directly to Credit Karma on their Contact Us page for this matter.
I literally had the exact same thing happen to me. Credit Karma closed my account for an "overdraw" of not even a dollar and didn't even notify me. And even though my account was so-called "closed," the IRS said that the direct deposit was successful. I AM BEYOND FURIOUS. Will be filing multiple complainants including criminal fraud.
Same exact thing happened to me. Single mom as well...class action suit IMO.
Please reach out directly to Credit Karma on their Contact Us page. They will be able to review your information and check on this account.
If the account was closed and IRS attempted to make a deposit, they will reverse the payment and probably mail a check. You could try to contact the IRS and state taxing authorities to see if they can stop it. The contact for the IRS is as follows:
IRS: 800-829-1040
Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (local time zone)
Monday-Friday
Or, you can visit your local IRS Office.
