Multiple users are posting to this very confusing thread---and getting even more confused by replies not intended for them----
@faitt3432 --- that remark about state refund was not for you --- it was for a different user.
@RoseMyDaughter Yes if your children are your dependents on your 2020 tax return then you should receive the 3rd stimulus amount for them---but you may have to wait for your 2020 return to be fully processed before the IRS releases the 3rd stimulus for the children. There was no place on a 2020 return to enter anything about the 3rd stimulus--- so you have to wait for the IRS to issue it.
TurboTax cannot track your 3rd stimulus or tell you when it will arrive. The IRS is issuing 3rd stimulus checks on its own timetable.
You can use the IRS Get My Payment site to see what is expected for your 3rd stimulus check:
https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment-frequently-asked-questions
We cannot see your tax return---so we do not know if you have any confusion happening with another parent who may have also claimed the children, etc. All you can do is wait for the IRS to process your return. The EIP payment goes to the parent who got the child tax credit for the child.
@faitt3432 And... you did not respond to the question about what income was put on a 2020 return for your son.
Still being processed means ID verify. Create an account on irs.gov and verify your identity. Most returns this year have a hold on them if you have been in still processing for more than a few months. I had still processing for 4 months. I did ID verify me and now it changed to it is being processed. Just helpful advice;)
"Still being processed" is displayed after 21 days for anything that requires further review by the IRS. There are a number of things that can cause it. In some cases it may be to ID verify, while in other cases it may be due to tax credit issues, such as those related to EITC, ACTC, stimulus payments, etc., or the return may have some missing information or a missing form/schedule, calculation errors, etc. The IRS often fixes what it can, and if more info is needed or any action is taken, they should send a letter of explanation.
Currently the IRS is about 16 million returns behind for any 2020 returns that require a manual review/processing.
How did you get through to speak to a person? I only get recordings even from the IRS in Washington DC. I may call the White House next. I work in Healthcare and worked through the entire pandemic. My return is "Still being processed". This means absolutely NOTHING. Since the IRS charges us an interest fee, I think they should pay us interest on the refund amount we are getting.

Calling the IRS and speaking to an agent will not get you any more information that is not already on the IRS website for the status of a federal tax refund - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
The IRS is seriously behind in processing 2020 tax returns. This is due to many factors, such as the pandemic, completing processing of millions of 2019 tax returns, stimulus payments, unemployment compensation exclusion tax refunds., changes in the tax code by Congress in the middle of the 2020 tax season and the like.
Millions of taxpayers have not yet received there federal tax refunds.

As of July 3, 2021, we had 16.8 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include tax year 2020 returns such as those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
What you should do: If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s my refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. We’re working hard to get through the backlog. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you can contact your local IRS office. See this IRS website for local IRS offices - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1 or call 1-844-545-5640 to set up an appointment
I have been waiting for over 6 months
My address has now changed,I faxed a statement of my new address to the irs
You faxed your address? Not sure what fax number you used--since that is not the way to change your address with the IRS.

How did you get through to the IRS?? I have been trying is hard but the line is ALWAYS busy. I can't even manage to make an appointment in my city. What time of day did you call?
Did you get your refund yet? mine was accepted on 17th March and still nothing after that and same status - your tax return is still being processed
This does not address my concern.
It has been over 90 days since filing.
I go to the site and it says still processing
Seems extra long time to me.
What should I do next?
Thank you.
Sorry the IRS is way behind. You are not alone. Millions are still waiting. Turbo Tax only gives you an estimated date. The IRS usually pays most refunds within 21 days. But these are not normal times. This year is taking the IRS longer to send the refunds. There are millions more people filing returns to get the Stimulus payment.
