Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If your refund is short $1,400 then that is because you said you did not receive the 3rd stimulus payment and the IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $1,400 Recovery Rebate Credit that was entered on Form 1040 Line 30.
Go to this IRS website for your tax account to see if the 3rd stimulus payment is entered - https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
If you checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 timeframe and there is not a $1,400 EIP3 payment from the IRS then go to this IRS website for how to start a trace on the payment - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-p...
I received a Cp11 letter from the IRS. I need to know what was wrong with my return.
Is anyone there?

If you purchased Audit Defense for your tax return, call TaxResources, Inc. at 877-829-9695, or report your IRS letter on their web site. http://intuit.taxaudit.com/ Do not contact the IRS until you have spoken to TaxResources. They may contact the IRS on your behalf.
If you did not purchase Audit Defense, you can get help with your IRS letter from TurboTax at the following link.
We can help you with your IRS letter
If you did not buy Audit Defense, we might be able to help you here. Tell us what reason the letter gives for why you owe money, and the notice number or letter number (starting with CP or LTR) at the top right. If the letter says there was something wrong or missing in your tax return, or proposes changes to the tax return, what exactly does it say?
Do not post any personal information or contact information. This is a public web site.
I received a Cp11 letter from the IRS. I read the reference you supplied. It doesn’t tell me what is wrong with my taxes. TurbTax did my taxes. Please tell me what is wrong with them.
I think the CP11 letter is about the Child Tax Credit.
The 2 most common reasons this year is you entered the wrong amount on line 30 for the Recovery Rebate Credit (3rd Stimulus payment) or line 28 for the Child Tax Credit. Those lines are just if you didn't already get the full amount or qualify for more. The IRS knows what they already sent you.
A lot of people answered the questions wrong and tried to claim the credits again. Double check your bank statements to see what the IRS sent you during the year for the 3rd Stimulus payment and Advance Child Tax Credit. And check your IRS account (both accounts if married).

We paid $100 plus to have TT do our return.
Your records show us getting a $2800 refund.
The IRS reduced our refund to $0.
The IRS said the amount was computed incorrectly.
What is going on !!! Not Happy.
Please advise.

Linda & Joseph Spagnoletti
Many taxpayers (and not just TT customers) made errors of this type. TT goes by your data entry, and answers to questions. If those are wrong, the IRS calls it a "math error."
As of April 7, the IRS had issued 9.4 million math error notices – and 8.3 million of these notices were related to the recovery rebate and the child tax credit.

LOTS of people have made mistakes this year with the recovery rebate credit by "forgetting" that they received the $1400 per person stimulus checks last year. They answered no to the questions for the recovery recovery rebate credit and put the $1400 per person on line 30 of their returns. But you cannot get it twice, so the IRS removes it when it is there by mistake.
Try checking your online account with the IRS
https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
Does the IRS show that you received a $1400 per person stimulus or EIP check in 2021? Did you receive it? When you were asked on your tax return did you say no? Was there $1400 per person on line 30 of your tax return?
If the IRS says you got $1400 per person last year but you did not receive it you can have it traced.
LOST THIRD STIMULUS CHECK
If you need to trace a payment that the IRS says has been issued to you, mail or fax a completed IRS Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund.
On my 2021 and 2020 returns the IRS adjusted my refund downward. Is this a mistake of TT?

we can't see your return or the notice the IRS sent. what reason is given? in many cases, the refund is reduced because taxpayers failed to enter the economic impact payments they got or the advanced child tax credit advances. for more info, you can get tax return transcripts which will show what was on the return and what the IRS computed as correct.
