TurboTax seems to have messed up my 2021 refund. The IRS says it was sent, but it was sent to a bank and routing number that was not mine. Someone needs to fix this.

I have jumped through all the hoops with the IRS and Taxpayers Advocate Service and they said that TurboTax has sent my refund to Green Dot bank. I know nothing about this bank and I am still without my refund. I have been unsuccessful getting in touch with anyone from TurboTax and I am not about to pay for the live help service.

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

When you choose “refund processing” your refund goes FIRST  from the IRS to to the third party bank.  Then the bank takes your fees out of your refund and sends the rest of the refund to you.

if you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund then the banking information on the tax form is the information to send your refund to the third party bank.  That bank gets your refund first from the IRS.  They take out your TurboTax fees and send the rest to you---and that bank has YOUR direct deposit information.

When you choose "refund processing"   TurboTax gets its fees when the IRS releases your refund.  Your refund goes to the third party bank.  The bank takes out your fees and then that bank sends the rest of the refund to you.

Okay, so this may not be a TurboTax thing, but a Green Dot Bank thing. I've tried contacting them but have been unsuccessful. Come to find out there are many other like me dealing with this bank. It seems there's some big scam that I can't figure out.
