I’ve been with TurboTax since 2019. I’ve always done the free version. Today they are making me pay $79 before I can file. I only signed up for free as I’ve done in years past. This is my last year with TurboTax. I’m a senior citizen and only make $67,000 gross income. It’s very deceptive the way they charge you at the end when you’re ready to file. I’ll just do e-file and do it for free.

If you started in the Free Edition and entered any data that required any extra forms or schedules, you have to upgrade to a paid version and if you are watching the screens carefully you are alerted to the upgrade.
