What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

Who'd you speak with stultzy?? IRS or wonderful tt? I contacted irs weeks ago and they couldn't find anything wrong with return. But was transferred to returns department because an amount was put on line 30 when it shouldn't have been.  Lmk who and how I can find out this information please. As irs said I'd have to wait up to 10 weeks and was accepted on the 13th of February. Smfh. Will be filing directly on irs website this filing year.

It's been over a month and haven't got my refund. Turbo tax got paid from refund but where is mine?

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.

Sadly, the IRS refund site has been behaving erratically and has not always been reliable this year.   TurboTax has no control over this and cannot find out anything about your refund for you.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.   Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.  The IRS is backlogged —-they are still trying to process millions of 2019 returns; they received millions of e-filed on the day they opened for 2020 returns, and now they are burdened with sending out another round of stimulus checks.   

Some delays are resulting from incorrect amounts that folks entered for stimulus checks they received.   Many people have been confused by the recovery rebate credit and completed it incorrectly.  The IRS may delay your refund while they cross-check to see what you received.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 34of your 2020 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Who can you contact do find why there is a delay in your refund. Mine was completed February 12th.

@Jncheatham81 mine as well, I just got my state this morning  so hopefully stimulus and federal will follow. Patience is the key.

The IRS is seriously backlogged due to all the recent new tax laws and extra stimulus filings, as well as a few million unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.

Up until today, the status bar was there and said return received then today the status bar disappeared and now it says "still being processed". No status bar. Does that mean anything? I have never gad any issues but with the pandemic, I worry. Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

Oh it does mean something.  It means your file has been pulled for amnueal processing.  The bs they put out like it is a browser situation and oh it means nothing.... very simple staitforward tax return with claiming the line line 30 for 600 stimulus that never came.  That's what got mine pulled.  And finally status bars came back and they  tell you your adjusted refund [ 50% less] will arrive with explanations of the reductions.  I filled january accepted 12th of feburary. And new by end of Feb when my status bar disappeared that things wernt right. Again thank you turbo tax for these delays and reductions!

After getting no answers and the frustrations last year, I went through an outside agency I filed February 1, 2021, and got my full amount including the stimulus I was screwed on last year the 26th of February.  Even though it cost more there is so much more peace of mind and no stress.  I hope that all of you have good luck going forward.

As I posted weeks ago that mine was accepted on February 17 then had the “ still being processed  “ , i checked the WMR 4/3/21 at 8am and low and behold the Easter bunny came a day early and I found that mine was “ approved “ with a note from IRS that there was something they couldn’t verify so they did deduct about 1/7 of my refund amount . It will be deposited 4/8/21 .  It’s a waiting game but it all works out . Best to all . It’s coming slowly but surely .

Yours said that and you have not filled out your taxes? Now I am pissed! I think this is a mess between turbo tax and the IRS! There are too many of us with the same problem!!!!
