Why do you think the company name is wrong?   Many employers are owned by "parent" companies that have a different name and address than the name of the local employer for whom you work.   Ask your employer about it.  Do not change it---the the W-2 that you received is what the employer sent to the IRS---so what you enter needs to match.

I'm having same problem , My company uses ADP, I let It download , everything is correct except company name. I delete it and install all information manually and it still comes up with incorrect name. been with this company 25 years and it never done this, and yes I know the correct name but turbotax displays it wrong

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the  directions below depending on which version you are using:

TurboTax Online:


1. Sign into your online account.
2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen. 
3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools  
4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
6. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

 

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

1. Open your return.
2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent”
3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
4. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

All information is correct except for name of company. when I log into ADP and print my W-2 it prints with correct name and info. so the paper copy is correct. I use turbotax , use the auto download all is correct except name of company.  I delete and manually input it still saves wrong. I close out ,reopen do manual change and still saves incorrect name. I can send pics if needed.

@nunnbronco  Thank you.  We will investigate and see if we can determine what is causing what you are seeing, both for your benefit as well as other TurboTax customers who may be experiencing something similar.

And a picture may help that shows the company name (but black out all other personal information please), as well as letting us know what the name should be.  Our diagnostic copies X-out that information otherwise.  Tag me @DanielV01 when you do so I am alerted to your message.  Thank you.

As I said before i can change it , but it wont save any differently.  I  thought maybe it is a ADP digitail copy problem, but turbo tax doesn't allow me to change and save correct name ??

@nunnbronco  Thank you for sharing, and we will escalate it.  It is likely that this will not prevent you from e-filing successfully, but it still needs to get fixed.  Thank you again.

I'm doing a remove and re-install of turbotax 2021 right now , I will use the manual input of info to see what happens. I almost believe its a employer/ ADP problem ; only because "amp" is a drink of Pepsi's. some how is a corrupted file.  will report back in a hour or so.

The & in W2 box C is not showing correctly.

Thank you for the information, @VolvoGirl.  Even we hadn't been informed they had diagnosed this.

THE RE-INSTALL SHOWED SAME RESULTS, NOW that I've seen Volvo Girl's reply I know Why.   hope issue is resolved soon,  good Idea not to file until it's been fixed ??
