Dear TurboTax expert,
The link you have posted and that has been posted multiple times in this topic says nothing about how to refile but only how to UPDATE THE SOFTWARE (which simply updates itself when you open it).
Please advise on HOW TO REFILE when (and if, as it's been 4 days now) my taxes are rejected. Is it simply to hit "FILE" once again or. does something specific need to be done. I only ask because I have not yet been rejected (4 days later).
My PENDING submission since 2/7 was finally rejected by the IRS just now.
I've already filed with another provider so I'm not resubmitting through TT again.
It’s going to be rejected by the irs, many of us just got notified. The system didn’t fill most of the form with ur answers.
I ended up starting my return on H&R Block. Surprisingly cheaper too, in the middle my turbo tax notified of my rejection due to the energy credit form. I continued with H&R Block though waiting for them to accept.
When it comes back as rejected you will get an email telling you all that parts of the form that their system didn’t fill out, even though you answered all the questions. They will have you go through them again and hopefully it fills it out properly this time. I’m not risking it and filing elsewhere. I’ve been filing with turbo tax since 2012, guess it’s time to move on.
I filed on 2/7 and finally got rejected today. I went back into the deductions and credits section and had to make a whole bunch of changes to the Residential Energy form, so obviously it was not right when I filed on 2/07. I resubmitted. No you do not have to pay again. Hoping this one gets accepted quickly.
Okay irs accepted within minutes through H&R Block.
@Ashley63b I filed with H&R Block. I was skeptical because TT already had my rental info pre filled from the previous years but it was easy with H&R Block & cheaper! My Nc state taxes due was also lower with h&r than with turbo but
im going to vigilant in the future in case it was incorrect.
For those wondering or haven’t received the rejection email here’s what mine said:
What happened
F5695-036 - If Form 5695, 'HomeLocatedInUSAInd' or 'OriginalUserInd' or 'FiveYearUseExpectationInd' have a choice of "No" indicated, then 'HomeAddress' must not have a value.
F5695-007-04 - If Form 5695, 'HomeAddress' has a value, then 'HomeLocatedInUSAInd' and 'OriginalUserInd' and 'FiveYearUseExpectationInd' must have a choice of "Yes" indicated.
All these fields were left blank. Did I answer these questions? Yes. Did there system leave them blank and not input my address? Yes. Do I trust their system to file my return properly now? NO. They need to refund anyone asking for one. This doesn’t even effect me as I am military and get to file for free but I am angry and frustrated for everyone.
Well, just got rejected. Never been so happy to be rejected from something. 😁. I did get a chuckle on how CLEAR (NOT!) the TT email was on WHY it was rejected, although I did know what it was. I'm sure that will get them a few more phone calls.

Rejected, myself... Filed about 10A ET on 2/8, for Form 5695.
And thankful. I can try to update the forms, and resubmit. I may wait until TT does their traditional Thursday updates, just to see if a capable programmer can repair the issues.
Is somebody stuck else stuck trying to fix they return. Mine is stuck in the qualified fuel cell capacities. It just goes into a never ending loop.
My son’s looks the same. He was still pending this morning. Have you had any luck being accepted?
Good news. I fixed the form after rejection which took five days… and resubmitted and IRS accepted within 30 mins. Finally
Same here. Actually took 17 minutes for me. (I refiled through TT). In the end I only lost 2 or 3 days but the entire fiasco was very disappointing and aggravating.
