Same here. It's April , we filed early March and our taxes still haven't even been "accepted".
Called the IRS yesterday, was told that they have 120 days to review my refund and should get refund by or before 6/29.
they did send me a letter asking for some more information. They asked for last 3 paystubs and proof of employment, which I found kind of odd. How ridiculous is that! I filled my taxes 2/16. I’ve never had any issues like this b4
6/29?! Great..
Y’all mind was REJECTED after 9 weeks in the errors department! I spent 2 hours on the phone with an IRS agent she told me it was rejected but couldn’t tell me why. She also did a referral (whatever that means) and I should receive more information in 30 days.
My complete 10 weeks April 23rd. I sure hope I don’t get the answer. Ridiculous. I’ve spoken with an agent as early as last week and they said it’s just in that errors department and wait until next week…
called IRS on the 23rd of April after the 10 week wait , all they could do is submit a referral and should have some feedback with in 30 days. Ridiculous. Anyone else get a different response?
I called today and got the same answer and my 10 weeks was also up on the 23rd. I just don't understand what the delay is this year.
I also called today and was told the operator would be sending a referral to the department holding these to tell them they had missed the 10 week mark and had to either contact me for more information or clear it for a refund. Unfortunately instead of the 30 day wait others were told, I was told the department had 60 days to respond. I filed a request for a refund from TurboTax. It will be at least 5 months before I get my refund it looks like!
Same response here
Called the same day and same response for me. Referral plus 30 day wait.
I’m relieved I filed with free tax and just let the TT filing get rejected. It took a bit longer but I got mine about a month ago. Had I stuck with TT I’d still be in limbo. No more. Been with them for years but I’m going to do free tax now. Sorry you guys are still waiting. That stinks.
Has anyone actually gotten their return yet? I filed 2/12 and had same issues as everyone else. I waited 10 week period. Agent told me she was sending notice to group holding it up that they had missed 10 week deadline but she said they had 60 days to respond. It’s now been 60 days and still in “Received” status. Am I the only one?
@Cbaz77 No, you are not the only one. Many users have reported this same problem.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate
